One woman that I heard was kind of making a good argument for PS3's price I think.
She was saying how you get so much technology with it and it would cost just as much if not more to build your own computer. She said how at first she was in an uproar as well but when she later contemplated it, she realized for what you were getting, the price is pretty reasonable.
I'm just putting this out there.

Yes its true you can build your own PC with that amount of money but guess what, what ever you decide to place inside that PC is because your actually gonna use it right when its finished being built, unlike PS3 where yes you do get a Blu Ray player, which by the way I finally got to see the actual player with a canadian price of $1244.00 just for a player, its not so much what your getting its the "accessories" if you will. In order to get HDTV quality you need a $1000 plus HDTV (acessory), Blu Ray movies (accessory), HDMI cable (accessory), these things add up costing more than double what you paid for a PS3 which in reality is supposed to be about games, same applies to XBOX360. The main reason I bought an XBOX360 is to play games, I never thought to myself "hey, I wanna watch DVDs so ill buy a XBOX360 instead of a $100 DVD player"

If I were to get a PS3 this year, which I'm not, and got it home, opened the box, I would have all the things I needed to play a game yes?

Re-read what you just typed because this is what your saying... Your saying that a $600 PS3 would come with every launch game, every Blu Ray Movie out now. It doesnt matter if she was referring to just whats in the box, you still need to buy more things in order to get the full experience of the product.

There are 3 major markets for video games the US, Europe and JAPAN. If you only 2/3's of the market it will be damn hard to be the leader. Why do you think Xbox is paying the developers of Blue dragon so much money.....bing you got it to try and make the Xbox360 appealing to the Japanese market because without them they LOSE.
The XBOX came out in 2001 and the XBOX360 came out in 2005 that is 4 years. Using the same time progression the new console will be out in 2009, and will announce they are making a new system in 2008.
The ps3 will drop in price in about 2 years just like the PS2 did.
The PS2 is outselling the Xbox 360.....right now at this moment out selling the xbox360. A current Gen system out selling a next Gen system.........O yeah by the way the PS2 has sold over 105 Million world wide......that is just a lot more than both Xbox and Xbox360. And having the FULL backwards compatibility most ps2 owners are going to eventually buy a ps3 maybe not at launch time but they will buy one. And like me most will probably wait until the first price drop which should be about 2 years after release
Do some research before you rant about how great your beloved 360 is. Gears of War Looks amazing that is true but if you look into it the game pushed the Xbox360 to the max the games Will not get much better looking than that were as the PS3 isn't even out yet so who know what there limits are.
More than likely you will always be a mindless fanboy and hail Xbox without any relevance but at least I tried to help you.
Of chores everything I said above is all guess work, but I used relevant fact from the past to help me predict the futures outcome making it educated guess work.

Keep in mind that both Xbox and Xbox 360 have not been around as long as PS2. 360's still a new system. The PS2 also had the success of the PS1 to help its success.
Personally, I've never even played an Xbox (or 360 for that matter, though I may get one once the price drops), but I do have a feeling that Microsoft will win this console war.

What he was saying, InnerRise, is that a PS3 outta the box is still unplayable, as you won't have any games for it. Same case with the 360, unless they've started a combo deal I don't know about.
Incidentally, the Wii is the only system playable "right out of the box." Funny, considering it's also the least expensive.
Not saying anything, just stating a few facts, is all.
I see the 360 selling the most this time, for a few reasons. It's already got a head start on both competitors. It's still mainstream, which the Wii, no matter how cool it is, probably won't overcome with the untraditional controls. And the PS3, even once it starts selling better after the price drop, will be behind on sales simply because the 360 will have been affordable longer.

GoW is not even close to taking the system to its limits, it takes years to do that, and you can argue that no game ever takes a system to its limits.

How do you know its not close to its limits are you designing the games. The people who designed the games said they pused it to its limits and they are the ones who told Xbox to up the ram from 256 to 512. Of chorse its not at its limits but it is close halo 3 wont look much better than Gears of war.

First of all, look at the difference between the old and new generation games on the original Xbox.... for instance the difference between Halo and Halo 2....
Back then when Splinter Cell came out, the developers always said "This game is pushing the Xbox to its limits"... and then look at Chaos theory....
Secondly, like Lana said the Xbox hasn't been out nearly as long as the PS2 and Sony already had the original playstation out before it which beat the Nintendo 64 b/c of its disc format and influenced more people to buy the new system. Have you even noticed how frikin long it took for Sony to make their new console compared to Microsoft??? At least give them some credit for god's sake....

Systems are broken down by life cycles each life cycle represents a year. the first, second and third life cycles are when the HUGE breakthroughs are made after that everything just gets slightly better.
The xbox360 is in its second life cycle right now which means it only has a year left before it hits its graphical plateau. 360 second lifecycle games look just as good as PS3s first lifecycle games. If they follow the progression that all consoles in the past have use it will look like this
xbox second lifecycle 20% increases = PS3 first lifecycle 20% increases
xbox Third lifecycle 20 % increases = PS3 Second lifecycle 20% increases
Xbox fourth lifecycle 5 % < PS3 third lifecycle 20% increases
Xbox fifth lifecycle 5%< PS3 fourth lifecycle 5% increases
Xbox Total increases 50%
PS3 total increases 65%
The percents above are just to show the progress of graphical improvements.
Nobody truly knows but I feel that this how its going to go down because it makes scenes……well at least to me it does. Works over continue tomorrow.
