...There's is one thing that I honestly don't understand. And that is the constant impression that the Wii's graphics are crap.
Think about this for a second. Nintendo, just like everyone else, is pushing forward. That's only natural. That's the only way to justify putting out a new console: Because it is, in some way, better than the previous console.
The jump from the PS1/N64/Dreamcast generation to the PS2/GC/Xbox generation was fueled largely on graphics. People liked the fact that games looked better, and so bought on those terms: whichever console had the prettiest games.
Now, since that worked last time, yes, Microsoft and Sony are putting ALL their chips into graphics processing power. Nintendo, since they couldn't have comparable graphics for a competitive price, opted out of the direct graphics war, instead choosing a new approach: new ways of playing games.
However, that is not to say that Nintendo is ignoring graphics ALTOGETHER. The Wii still is twice as powerful graphically as the GC. That is NOT "crap" graphics. Yes, I know it can't and won't compare with the 360 or PS3, but that doesn't mean it'll look like something stuck to the bottom of your shoe.
It's not one or the other. Just LOOK at some of the games. They aren't as shiny as Gears of War or Resistance, but they don't look like the original MGS, either.
