As I pointed out and others have affirmed, you have not said or predicted anything that isn't blindingly obvious, and the rest is simple guesswork that any one of us could make as well.

Like I say, you are predicting the sun will rise. Worthless. And you are assuming what the weather will be this time next year- also worthless.

Your analogy doesn't work at all. My guess is an uncertainty and you are comparing it to certainties like the sun rising. The sun rising is obvious xbox 720 coming out in 2009 isn’t obvious. It is actually the opposite of obvious it almost seem unlikely because of the fact that the PS3 and Wii just got released and the Xbox360 is still doing very well and will probably still be doing very well in 2009. It’s more like predicting the Arizona Cardinals wining the super bowl.

So don’t get all pissy because I predicted when the next system will come out. If it was so obvious why are you arguing it. If you find it pointless then don't comment about it. And if you don’t want to give me a cookie then don’t.

Looks like my prediction is coming true MS is already working on Xbox 720. Looks like it might even happen before 2009.

It hurts to be right sometimes.

Dude, it's been known for months that MS is already working on the next Xbox system.

Well no one posted it so it was news to me when I saw it on google.

If you actually bothered to read what was being said you wouldn;t make such mistakes.

I was saying that everything that you have said, that is is true that you are right about, is entirely obvious. Everything else you claim to be right about is simple, unsupported guesswork, and so you cannot claim reward for being 'right'.

Part of your argument seems to be because Microsoft have started work on the next XBox already; this is made irrelevant by the fact that everyone starts work on the new console immediately- in fact, before release, so your link you gave lends not the slightest bit of credence to anything you say at all. Whether your claims are right or wrong, your claim to victory is irrelevant, and your claim to be brilliantly right about something (where, it is implied, others have not been) is worthless.

Hence, your entire ego-driven post is irrelevant and worthy only of contempt.

So you're claiming you'll know when the next systems will come out but you only just now figured out that MS is already working on their next system - something that's been common knowledge for months now?

Sorry, but in my opinion, that fairly shatters the credibilty of your claim.

We know MS is working already - everyone who pays any attention knows this. But what we don't know is what sort of things they'll be doing and technology they're developing - which is why you cannot say with any certainty when it will be out.

Going by the average time between system launches it is a fair guess that it will be out in about 2009-2010, but you cannot claim this with any real certainty because we know positively nothing beyond it being in the works already.

How does them working on the new Xbox make it obvious that it will be released in 2009? It is obvious that they are working on a new system but the release date of the new system is far from obvious.

My link just shows that they were working on the new xbox the reason that supports a 2009 release date is because in development the shorter amount of time you spend developing the less money is cost on the final product. Also if you spend too much time in development by the time you are finished with your product your technology is already out dated so you have to re-development. The only reason I can see them dragging out development any longer than 3 years is because everything is being built in house and the might run into problems with unfamiliar hardware. Also three years after the first xbox360 rumors the xbox360 was released and the xbox was released 3 years after the first rumors of the system. Now I hear rumors of a new xbox system it leads me to the conclusion of 2009 release date.

That adds some relevance to my clam. There has been no creditable speculation of the new Xbox until now. They may have been working on it for months but it wasn’t being reported on any news sources until now.

Everyone knows the best way to predict the future is with relevant facts from the past. This is why people always bring up Beta and UMD and Walkman when talking about Blu-Ray.

While all this arguing is lovely...

What is the point, Dirk? Microsoft is working on the next Xbox. Duh. We've known that for months, and apart from knowing it, it's blatantly obvious. So why the hell are you arguing?

Why do you care what year it'll be out? Why do you need it to be 2009 so badly?

What do you want, recognition? Fine, I'm recognising that you can read news posts like everyone else, and have basic problem-solving and logic capabilities. Whoopee.

If you need to pad your ego, an internet forum is the wrong place to try.

There is no point at all. I found an artical that says they are working a new system, This was new news to me and nobody else posted anything about it , so I posted it also mentioning that It looks like I was right when I first guess 2009 release date 30 pages ago. and then BOOM everyone got pissy, pickin fights turning my simple post into an argument and not understanding that the cookie cookie was a damn joke. Next time I find new news I know not to post it or I'll get Eattacked.

Stop having a pity party.

You know why all of this bickering is going on.

If you stop, it will stop.

Let's get back on topic then shall we? So now the selling of a PS3 has become a very high dollar business proposition. I suppose I should have thought of that long ago and preordered as soon as I had the chance. Apparently doubling the profit from one would not have been that hard! But it seems the Wii, not being as popular as the controversial PS3 is selling well enough, with more people not re-selling them on E-bay... I think its going to be a good couple of years for Nintendo. I'm glad Nintendo needed to be put back in the spotlight.

hehe... if you could dodge gun / bb shots and parking lot poles, and hurdle over angry mobs.... IMO sittin out in the cold-ass weather for 24+ hours on long lines where peoples patience are ticking time-bombs is just not worth the money, OR the system for that matter....

but if you can edure all of that, the business is great 😎

Actually, there's less people reselling the Wii because there's more available, and thus while the demand is still high, more of it's being filled and thus fewer people are turning to scalping it on ebay. Like, my store got more in than we had orders for, which is always a good thing, and then got a second shipment in today, and should be getting a couple more before Christmas.

Hehe, I was on Amazon this morning and went to their page for the Wii and was like "Shit, they sold their entire stock in under a minute? Damn..."

I don't think I've ever seen you curse before. shock

So you all got some more already???

Did you sell out of them very quick?

Were people aware that they were there?

So there's hope. doped

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

I curse fairly frequently 😛

The Wiis sold out pretty fast on Sunday but there was enough to cover all the preorders and some extra; we got in 6 more today at about noon, and they were all gone by 2pm, I was told. Just people walking in and asking if we had one.

So I would say if you're still looking for one - check by calling stores to see if they've gotten any more in. We have no idea when we'll get more...hopefully we'll get some for Friday ermm but yeah, just try calling around places.

Congrats Dirk, your ego gets a cookie from me 👆

So you "predicted" a 2009 xbox3 release, good for you. At least in that time I will have played the Sh*t out of my xbox360 and ready for the next next gen because I predict PS3 will not lower its price for a good while and I also predict Blu Ray will crash and burn while I predict the Wii to outsell both PS3 and XBOX360.

It was parading around your "I'm so right" attitude that caused the problem. Tone it down in future unless you have made some genuine achievement.

The Wii launch has gone pretty well, technically. I understand that a certain amount of the US released consoles have early firmware that is not working too well. I also understand that some consoles have gone belly up after using the Wiiconnect service, necessitating replacement.

I suppose one advantage of getting a later release is that teething troubles like that are sorted out. One hopes. Well, certainly 100% of Wiis produces from now on will have the right firmware.

The main problem about the Wii launch is that quite literally none of the first-party accessories are available, and there are no third-party ones yet.

i want the damn component cables!!!! 😠
