Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

If I had a dollar for every time I was asked if we had component cables or extra controllers last night, I'd've probably had enough to buy myself a Wii.

As far as we can tell, the cables haven't even been shipped yet. We were telling people to try checking in next week to see if anywhere has gotten them.

they are expected to ship mid december. cmon lana, you're supposed to know this.

I've personally not heard that, just that they weren't shipped and we didn't know when we'd get them.

So does the price demonstrate which one is better or would they both put out the same quality picture?

By the way. Does the Xbox360 have special component cables or anything that I should get the enhance the picture or anything?

You can get the monster cables for the 360 in component form. It's the best bet.

It gives better images, but you'll be fine with the 360 component cables.

One question?

Has they're being any crap surrouding the PS3 and Wii about them not working, similiar to the XBOX 360 launch?

And does anybody have an PS3 in this forum, or an Wii? And are they fun?

Are they called "Monster Cables"???

The PS3 overheats quickly and some Demo Wii's were shipped and so some people require a Startup Disc to play the system, which they don't have.

Do you have an HDTV?

Because if you do, unless it's like, 50 inches, you probably won't notice a difference. And if you don't... they aren't going to help either. 😛

Component cables make a big difference compared to composite. It doesnt matter if your TV isnt HD or not...component makes a big difference.

Yeah, Innerrise, they're called monster cables. It's a company that makes premium cables that are much better than typical cables. They're usually gold plated and are much larger. The best picture you want, you would need Monster Cables. They're not essential though. You can easily get by without them, but if somebody wants premium shit, thats what they are.

I have them to counteract my delay from my DLP TV.

The only problem I've had is that my remote speakers don't seem to have that stable a connection with the console.

I've heard some Wiis were shipped dead, though.

Personally, I'd advise against buying a Wii just yet, unless you're a Zelda fanatic that MUST have Twilight Princess (like me ^^; ). Pretty much the only worthwhile game so far is Zelda, and there are only a couple good virtual console downloads. I'd say give it a good month to get sorted out and fixed up.

No money.

Waiting till Christmas for the Wii.

Doesnt matter if they'res no games for the Wii aside from Zelda, which Im a huge fan of. I got an PC, and XBOX 360 and at Christmas and Wii, and not including DS...so if one console has no games...then well, I have something to tide me over until it does.

And that Zelda is absolute humagous....just wondering if my TV will be alright with the Wii and its precision timing.

What do you mean you wonder if your tv will be alright with the Wii and its precision timing?

it seems to me that the third party one is just taking of the demand and squeezing its customers since its released 2 weeks prior to nintendo's. its 480 resoluton tops for wii, so i dont see how one could possibly be better 😬

depends on your tv. ihave a 42" ED (480 resolution) plasma and the component cables included give a perfect picture. however if you have a bigscreen HD you might want more

I have a delay with my HDTV DLP, so when I played MVP 2005 on the GC when I first bought the TV, whenever you tried to get the pitch into the green part, I would always be a couple of CM's short. The input when I hit the button was 1 second to slow, which is really annoying when playing videogames.
I have the same problem with the 360, its very slight due to the screen resolution it has.

So the Wii is at 480P, which the GC was at, and the the controller works on motion based...so my problem would be that when I move the controller for an FPS game, the crosshair wont move until a second has pass....

You can see how annoying that would be.
