depends on your tv. ihave a 42" ED (480 resolution) plasma and the component cables included give a perfect picture. however if you have a bigscreen HD you might want more
Well I'll be using a regular 32 inch television so what do you suppose would be best?

My grandparents have a plasma though. I'll hopefully get to play on that, although they say no games will be played on it.

We'll see about that.

My mom also just bought a big HD Capable TV a couple months ago although it seems she has no intentions of doing what she has to do to get the High Definition part up and working.................what must be done by the way to get it all High Definition Ready?

I have a delay with my HDTV DLP, so when I played MVP 2005 on the GC when I first bought the TV, whenever you tried to get the pitch into the green part, I would always be a couple of CM's short. The input when I hit the button was 1 second to slow, which is really annoying when playing videogames.
I have the same problem with the 360, its very slight due to the screen resolution it has.

So the Wii is at 480P, which the GC was at, and the the controller works on motion based...so my problem would be that when I move the controller for an FPS game, the crosshair wont move until a second has pass....

You can see how annoying that would be.

Yes that does sound annoying.

Could you play on another television screen?

anata wa wakarimasu ka.....

Not really..

the other tv screen is an rip off from an hotel my girlfriend's dad used to work at. Too use it, I would have to go through an adapter.

It should work.

I just wish I could try it before.

Hey Lana, is your store selling consoles on Friday, or are the rumors about stores lying to customers to hold and sell consoles on Friday true?

I've no idea if we're going to have any on Friday and probably won't until I get there that day, though since I don't have work until the evening (thank god) they'll probably all be gone.

But from what I know yes, there should be some Wii consoles available Friday. Expect them to be gone fast though. All EB Games/Gamestops are opening at 7am, so yeah.

So you mean to say... Wii is hard to get?.. cry

I wanted to get one sometime soon crybaby

Component cables make a big difference compared to composite. It doesnt matter if your TV isnt HD or not...component makes a big difference.

Yeah, Innerrise, they're called monster cables. It's a company that makes premium cables that are much better than typical cables. They're usually gold plated and are much larger. The best picture you want, you would need Monster Cables. They're not essential though. You can easily get by without them, but if somebody wants premium shit, thats what they are.

I have them to counteract my delay from my DLP TV.

I meant, if he didn't have an HDTV, the difference between regular component cables and the Monster Cables wouldn't warrant the money.

It's going to be fairly hard to get...but not like the PS3, of which there won't be anymore available for a good while. I think I heard somewhere that Nintendo plans on doing a shipment every week.

My advice on getting one is to just check up and call stores every couple of days.

Nintendo wants to get 4 million Wiis out by christmas, that sounds like plenty.

Really, your best bet to get one is to go to one of the bigger chain stores. Stores like Bestbuy, Walmart, Target, as opposed to Eb/gamestop. These bigger stores get way way more, and a lot of people don't bother going to them, thinking Eb/Gamestop is the best place because they specialize in video games.

there wasnt even a game left at gamestop or wal-mart, target , nor bestbuy...not even a controller...its a good thing i pre-ordered mine or i would have been s.o.l., btw the wii is pretty awesome... 💃 btw did anyone create their "Mii" yet

EB/Gamestop is good for if you want to reserve something before it comes out, since as far as I know stores like Target and Best Buy don't do reserves, and then of course if you want to get a used system or games or something.

There's still a good number of games at the EB Games where I work.

And there wasn't much in the way of accessories that were shipped so no, no extra controllers right now.

Wii....Mii...haha...I get it...haha.

i still think they called it the wii just so they could call their controller the wiimote. clever move on their part.

I remember everyone here was in shock when Nintendo changed their console name from Revolution to Wii. Now we are seeing why they did and I think they realized that the game industry needs to get back to basics.

Imagine them having the controller called "Revmote"... moto: it revs up like a motor 😖

sorry, but what basics are we talking about?

Oh right..it used to be called Revolution, right...what an incredibly much better name.

I believe they mean the basics of what makes games fun

"innovative" "interactive" "interesting".. etc

rather than the current "hollywood" mind frame the industry is in now

Can you explain how that was a better name now that we see why Nintendo changed the consoles name?

and why did they change the name?

Revolution was the code-name, Wii is the official name.

Just like GameCube's code-name was Dolphin.
