Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

Anyway...

I guess with the PS3 out globally, we can fairly much say that next-gen has become current gen.

What's next, then? Especially for handhelds; I am very interested to see where they might go.

Yeah I have to change the name of this thread eventually...

Random question I've been pondering due to a conversation I had at work the other night -- has anyone here who lives in the US seen a single 20gb PS3 since launch?

I know im not in US but here in Canada ive seen 4 PS3 2 20Gb 2 60GB and no Wii and plenty of 360s all at one spot.

I have seen no 20gb PS3s ever. I'm not sure they exist anymore.

I've seen boxes of PS3's whether they're 20 or 60 I do not know.

Quad screen DSSSS.

I wish the DS had an analog stick so I could play Mario 64 without wanting to kill myself in anger.

I'm hoping next-gen handhelds have two analog sticks.

Same here...I just see the boxes of PS3. Doesn't really interest me which version they have available.

Things could always be better but they've gotten slightly better.

(Just for the sake of sticking to the subject matter)WE did have a bonding moment the other night when we both were playing our Nintendo Handhelds in bed together................in our seperate bunk beds of course......and he still has a Gameboy SP, while I have a DS....so yeah..closedeyes

That's been a bit of s strokes for folks thing- I actually seemed to to darn well there. Then again, I can't play Hunters for long without my hand becoming arthiritic. So I guess widening accessibility is good.

How sure are people that Nintendo will stick with the dual screen thing? It's wprkerd well, of course- better than I think they thought it would.

Two touch screens worth it?

Screens that can be touched in more than one place at once worth it?

Meanwhile, what will Sony do with PSP2?

I'm gonna thow this out there as an off-the wall topic, but have you guy noticed that the release times of these 3 games have been EXACTLY the same (more or less).

Fall 2001:

-Grand theft auto 3
-Metal gear solid 2
-Halo

Fall 2004:

-Grand theft auto San andreas
-Metal gear solid 3
-Halo 2

Fall 2007

-Grand theft auto 4
-Metal gear Solid 4
-Halo 3

Its almost like they plan this or something

They do plan the release of games. Usually between September and February is a good time to release a game.

You may have noticed that there isn't that many high ranked games released during the summer.

I know for a fact that Nintendo delayed that 1080 Snowboarding(either for the N64 or Gamecube can't remember) game because they didn't want it released during the summer.

My hand cramps up a bit after I play using the stylus for too long...then again, my left hand usually rebels and cramps up into a ball of pain after using the nunchuk controller for the Wii, but I think that might just be because I've only ever played one for a couple of hours.

Yes, it's called the holiday season. Always the best time to release new stuff.

I think he was talking more about how each game is released in the same year, and hasnt missed an beat, which is kinda of interesting considering thier alll AAA games and they usually always get delayed.

yeah I'm aware that the best games are released during holiday season.

But the fact that this trio seems arrive on beat with each other is peculiar to me.

They are all high profile games, so they get a similar development cycle.

But still, its kinda of wierd that all three have been in the same quarter and the same year.

Usually, atleast one of those gets delayed.

He forgot Vice City in 2002, Mario Sunshine, and Substance MGS2's re-release.
