Are LG's any good?

haven't looked at their price tag, but my dad wants me to get one cuz the LG he bought ages ago for my room turned out quite good (regular LG TV that is)

Wii mote is as fine as ever. Just not enough good games on the system yet.

can someone help me plz, been looking where to ask but my searching brought me here so here goes.

i've been considering on buying a next ge console for sometime now and i'm not sure what to get. the xbox 360 has the most games right now but ive read on other threads that it breaks down easy and theres the risk of the red ring of death. i've also read in somea articles that microsoft has extended the waranty from 1 year to 3 years for this kind of deffect. with this, im guessing that microsoft is forseeing this problem to be common. and i really wouldnt want to spend money on something that would easily break.

the ps3 on the other hand has less reports of breakdown. but the problem is that there arent much games for it that i want. developers sure are taking their sweet time coming out with games. so not much reason to really consider this system

the wii well...lets just say that you either get a ps3 or an xbox 360 then a wii.

bottom line is the xbox 360 worth taking the risk? is there any way to keep it from going poof?

any help would be greatly appreciated.

360 is still top on my priority list until some really great titles come out for the PS3. PS3 is #2 on my list, and then it's PSP. Last is...the Wii. 😛

Go for either the Wii or the 360.

If you like Nintendo games like Mario, Metroid etc go for the Wii.
If you like great graphics and don't care so much about the old franchises, go for the 360.
If you like crap, go for the PS3.

If you have money, go for a Wii and a 360.

Pretty much agree.

Wii60 is the way to go. And I've had my 360 for a little over a year now, and it's never froze or broke down on me yet,

yea, my friend hasnt had his broken either..i honestly doubt the 360 breaking down thing isnt as bad as people make it out to be 😬

would moding the 360 lessen the chace of it breaking? of course that would void the waranty but if it doesnt break, there wouldnt be much need to use the waranty

thanks for the feedback. i'm currently inclinded at getting a 360 over a ps3. but i do love my tekken and final fantasy. if im not mistaken, these two are sony exclusive. i think i'll wait till christams and see what games comes out. hopefully thered be more rpgs for the 360.

Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Solid are the only two big games I know is PS3 exclusive, so far. Haven't heard anything about Tekken.

As for modding, I would advice against it. I heard something about Microsoft doing something that they can detect if your X-box is modded or not when you connect to X-Box Live, and it is against the rules after all.

As for good RPGs, X-box 360 has an exclusive game coming soon called Mass Effect, it looks really impressive. So if you like RPGs I think you should check it out.

i'll check out mass effect at ign or gamespot. i'm really into rpg which is why i preffered my ps2 to my xbox. but saddly i had to sell my ps2 before ffXII came out (it was starting to make some nasty noises and i figured that i've had for more than 4 years. at least i got some cash out of it before it actually bogged down 😛 )

tekken has been a sony exclusive since tekken 1 came out on the original playstation. but seeing as the ps3 is the most expensive of the three i'd most likely pick it up once it drops in price in the next few years or so 😛

and yeah, i heard that if you have a moded 360 and try to log on to live, they have some way of dettecting it which would block you from using the service.

anyway, thanks for the tip, i'll see if there are any other good games i might like on gamespot (halo 3 comes to mind) and hopefully, if all goes well i'll have enough cash to buy a 360 and 5 games this christmas
