It just means Bungie is expanding their skills and trade to other places. Not really a split. Bungie wants to try other projects with different systems. They're moving into a Capcom strategy.

I dont know what you all think, but I see this as good news
I mean. It's great for a console to have exclusives, but if a company decides to expand on other consoles, and experiment, why shouldn't they do it.
PS3 lacks quality games... and it lacks developers and publishers to actually use it to its fullest potential (EA sucks) and push it forward. Bungie could do just that...
the same should be said about Wii, boy it needs more original and hardcore games, what most third parties do it's shitty ports, unimaginative gimmicks... or they chose to do their own versions of WiiSport and WiiPlay... Bungie could comfortably experiment with it too
about HALO... well there was HALO-DS, that should suffice 😄

And yet it seems Nintendo only needs Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Star Fox, and Pokemon. I mean the Wii has just outsold the 360 and that's without Super Mario Galaxy, NiGHTS Journey of Dreams, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Resident Evil Wii, Soulcalibur Legends, Mario Kart Wii, and Star Fox out.
At least Wii doesn't come out with a new shooter every week (Microsoft). Seriously Halo, Gears of War, BioShock, Lost Planet, Perfect Dark Zero, and Ghost Recon are shooters and those are the best selling 360 games right there. The Xbox 360 needs to come out with something other than a freaking shooter! Seriously at least the Wii isn't giving you nothing but platformers. At least they give you an action-adventure, a FPS, and RPGs.
Blue Dragon is the only none-shooter game the 360 has that's worth mentioning. Dead or Alive 4 was okay but once DOAX2 came out...I couldn't look at DOA4 anymore just knowing that those two games are related.
This is true I have Both A Wii and Xbox 360 the only bad next gen Console is the PS3 Wii and 360 are the best just like the DS and PSP
Sorry Sony but you lost another customer here with ridiculous prices no exclusive games compered to the 360 and not being allowed to play PS2 games on them in Europe.

PS3 sucks. They lost most of their exclusive games already. And please the PSP is a piece of crap as well. It has no good games besides Grand Theft Auto and even those are okay.
PS3 lacks quality they rush to get games out and are not pushing there technology hardware also there games are poor only 3 good games Motorstorm, MGS4, And heavenly Sword compered to the 360 hmm let's think of it's classics ahh yes
Dead Rising, Gears of War, Viva Pinata, Halo 3, Project Gotham Racing 4, Bioshock, Oblivion since it came on the 360 first, Lost Planet, Perfect Zero, Kameo must I go on

Be patient, in November we get two games that look really impressive, Mass Effect (an RPG) and Assassin's Creed (stealth).

Yeah, it doesn't sound like much is actually changing, though. They'll still probably work on the Halo games.
They'll still give MS priority to publishing their games.
The only difference is that they'll be free to make whatever other games they want new IP's and such.
Personally, I dont care if Bungie left or not because MS has the Halo rights and I would love to see another devleoper create an Halo game.
In my opinion, the majority of people think Halo with Microsoft, not Bungie.

You completely missed the point on my post
I was talking about Third Party games: it's not like Wii doesnt have 3rd party support, they do. Problem is the quality of 3rd Party tittles.
or did you not read this

Nintendo manages fines with their licenses. they get the most out of their systems... it's pretty obvious since it's their console.
but most 3rd Parties settle at making ports, but having the wiimote do trivial and obvious actions
pretty much the same can be said about PS3... minus the wiimote 😄
about hardcore... well, that's pretty much Nintendo's fault... but it's not like it's a bad thing
I have only three games and I'm happy with them: WiiSports, Wario Smooth Moves and Super Paper Mario... I have yet to fully play SPM, but I play the other too cuz is quick and fun... but If I want to waste long periods of time. I turn on my PS2 and play hardcore games ( I should however play SPM 😕 )
and since you brought it up: does wii have an RPG?
as far as I know it doesnt... it has Zelda (which in getting next month for free) and SPM, none of those are RPG... they are action-adventures games with RPG elements... but not truly RPG's

you should get your facts straight
the emotion chip was taken out of the PS3 and replaced with software emulation... so you can still play PS2 games... but not all of them
... sounds familiar.........
oh yes...just like the 360
and who the hells buys a console for its backwards compatibility?... that's a plus, it's not mandatory... unless, of course you never had a PS2... in that case you would want to be doing some PS2 gaming due to it's lack of good games
games?... well that's different. cant argue with that ... but until otherwise officially announced, you'll be missing on games like MGS4 or FFXII
price?... wont argue with that either, but your getting a Blueray with it too... so unless HDDVD wins... it wont be an expensive paperweight ... only IF HDDVD doesnt win 😆
exclusives... most, if not all XBOX games can be played with a PC... the most popular are... so much for it's exclusivity.

XBOX it's HALO... and viceversa
but I dont think a new developer could handle HALO... to much pressure... not to mention fanboys nitpicking on every detail.
HALO stays a MS exclusive, no matter what... Bungie going independent doesnt mean they would leave HALO to them. it's their game afterall... exclusivity its a whole different issue

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
They're not out yet...but besides Elder Scrolls IV the 360 took two years to get a good RPG (Blue Dragon).
