Being expensive doesnt make it bad. lol
For a bluray player and a next gen game console its a steal, Sony just shouldnt have made the system Bluray only. Because unless Sony has some super advanced mystery game to pull out of their ass, right now there isnt a game out or coming out that cant be done on a dvd.

It actually costs game developers more money to make a game on the PS3 then the 360 and Wii so many 3rd party developers don't really want to waste their money on the PS3. Hence the reason it has so little exclusive games indevelopment.
Yeah, its definatly expensive and definatly lacking games(still), but the console on its own right is damn good as far as what it can do.
Seems Sony got to arrogant in believing the PS2 owners would follow on to the PS3 and got a little too ambitious with what they did, and the people just arent ready for it yet.
Being expensive doesn't not say anything about the console's capabilities itself nor whether it's actually a good console or not. To think so is stupid.
Look at the XBOX 360, which you say you own.
When that first came out for $400.....people were kind of taken aback as they were with the price of the Playstation 3.
You still bought one though. The XBOX 360 got some good games and people jumped on board even though it cost what it did.
You're reasoning is GREATLY FLAWED.

The issue isn't the price itself, it's that most of the good games are cross-platform, so you can play the same game... for much less money.
If the PS3 had several high-calibre exclusives, the price would be validated by the games, but the sad fact is it doesn't.

The PS3 is also significantly harder to program for, hence why so many multi-platform games are coming out on the PS3 after the other systems it's on.

Also, most multi-platform games dont actually look better than the 360's version.
Atleast last generation, the general rule of multi-platforms was that the XBOX version atleast had marginally better graphics.
Even next-gen doesn't look better, take this Assassin's Creed PS3 vs 360 comparison video for example:
WARNING, link contains the "plot-twist" that happens about 1 min into the games start.

IMO, the 360 one looks a tad better.
I'm planning on getting an X-Box 360 for Christmas this year (Premium) and I was wondering if you guys had any recommendations on where to get one for the best price, or if the price is pretty much universal.
Also, I'm pretty much set on getting a Premium, but I was also wondering if you guys would strongly recommend the Elite.
Thanks!
