Best is definitely PS3.
Why?
1. Best backwards compatibility:
Sick and tired of the new shiny graphics? You can always opt for those fun retro games from PS1 and PS2.
Some good titles:
Final Fantasy 7-9
Chrono Cross
Star Ocean series
The Legend of Dragoon
Metal Gear Solid 1
Resident Evil 1-4
GTA III- GTA: SA
Twisted Metal : Black
Gran Turismo 3
SSX
Tekken series
Burnout 3: Takedown
2. Cheap alternative to a Blu-Ray CD player:
A lot cheaper than standard Blu-Ray disc players, with added gaming functionality 👆
3. Better game selection:
Wide selection of extremely fun and addictive games.
4. Extended multi-player support:
More than 8 players can simultaneously play using a Multi-Tap.
Best of all, no RRODs

Something seemed to have bugged when I posted that message, after the final comma I said "that is not multiplatform."
Originally posted by occultdestroyerAs others have already pointed out; the new PS3s do not have any backwards compability. There goes your number 1. Also, I'm pretty sure the 360 still has it's backwards compability to the original Xbox.

Well, that's clearly for those who are willing to spend 50% more on a movie that's available on DVD for less.
You post a list of games from the previous generation, but no list of PS3 games, perhaps because they are very few in comparison to the 360 and the Wii?
What current-gen games do actually support that? And why would anyone be interested in using it when you can just go online?
That one getting kinda old, that's an aging problem and thanks to the excellent customer support it's not even a big deal anymore. It happened to my 360 once, I sent it in for repairs and spent more time doing something else. All free of charge.

Must-have PS3 games (better than their 360/PC counterparts):
GTA IV
Metal Gear Solid 4
Eternal Sonata
Soulcalibur 4
Resistance 1 and 2
Little Big Planet
Half-Life: The Orange Box
Brothers In Arms
BioShock
Assassin's Creed
Condemned 2
Well, too bad for those with no backwards compatibility.
I bought mine 2 years ago lol.
BTW what good games are there in 360, besides Halo series?
That game bored me to death
EDIT: This 2 year old PS3 was pounded and dropped from the table by my 3 year old cousin. Still works like nothing happened. Not even a scratch

Not that Im picking on every argument that supports PS3 or anything, but why did you say "better than their 360/PC counterparts"? Bioshock, Brothers In Arms and Orange Box are all better on PC due to keyboard/mouse combo. Also given all the games I left in the list are ports (ie EXACT copies of the game), theres nothing that makes the PS3 version 'better'.
Soul Calibur 4 "might" be better if you choose to install it since it makes the loading times shorter, but other than that it is the same game. Well...Vader is a better character than Yoda, but it doesn't matter since the 360 will get it and PS3 will get Vader.
Honestly I don't care about Yoda given how broken he is.

GTAIV is better on the PS3? Really?
Wasn't that version of it...rather glitchy and prone to freezing up a lot?
Eternal Sonata and Bioshock everyone has played already. And generally, the 360 version of a game has an edge over the PS3 version for the simple fact that the 360 is a billion times easier to program for.
And my system, which I bought used a year ago and which was made in early 2006, hasn't given me any problems beyond unreadable disc errors. And that was when the first disc of my copy of Lost Odyssey came out of the case scratched up to hell because of the poor way they packaged that game.

Retro is something from the early 90's, not a PS2 game.I never understood why backwards compatibility is such an issue. I would think the majority of next gen console buyers have previous systems and are buying it to play newer games.
A lot of people don't want to have to keep around a bunch of old systems, or don't have room for them.
Lately I play Battlefront more than any 360 game, and that's for regular Xbox.
