Last-Gen Console Discussions (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii)

Started by FinalAnswer507 pages

I am amused about all the BAAAAAWWWWWWing kids screaming their going over to the Xbox nao because of this error.

=/

Seriously? Go to the 360, that's infamous for its errors, because of a technical error that Sony said they'll have fixed by Tuesday?

I lol'd.

Also, there are people saying their PS3s got fixed, and all the stuff they lost (Trophies, DLCs) are recovered.

Which is good.

I'd probably kill someone if lost all my Heavy Rain trophies, and Shale (DA😮. I also got him for free) =l

I agree with points 2 and 3. I don't think the controller handle length is an issue at all. And I think having the sticks in line works better, it feels better having them there when you're used to it IMO. (This coming from someone who has only been using the Dualshock this generation.)

The 360 controller has it's flaws too though, the D-Pad is balls, and the ABXY buttons have a greater tendancy to stick. There is also the area on the back with the battery pack, I find my fingers going numb on the back after a lengthy gaming session.

Both fantasatic controllers though, and they both dick on the Wii's (Which can't even handle 3D movement without motion controls.)

I agree with the sticky ABXY buttons. 2 of them went to hell after a month and a half of playing SF4.

I never thought the Y2K bug would do a world-wide attack 10 years from its actual date. I'm glad that crisis is over 😄

Now I can beat Dante's Inferno on Infernal mode!

Yeah.

For a second there, I had thought I lost all my Heavy Rain trophies (I had 70%). I booted up the game, and checked my trophies. It said I was at 0%.

I RAGED.

Then, I restarted the game, and was back at 70%. =l

I dun't know.

Great! Everything's fixed

It's safe to play again 🙂

Everything tickity boo on my PS3 now.... Now I can go back to laughing at 360 failure rates (while praying mine does not.)

Error 8001050F = Leap Year

Who knew you just had to wait a day 🙄

anyone seen the official statement, a bug in 'clock functionality' is the cause.

WTF? What retarded technician even made it possible for the systems clock function to even affect gameplay at all?

That would be like my toaster refusing to work...if i run out of milk.

It's a dumb problem to have , and alas, another point to the xb community

Think about it...clock functionality is crucial to this day and age in video games. Would you leave it open to where people can play games well before release date? The game reads the internal clock and says "Ok, past street date...good to go."

can you still use it, or has it been bricked altogether?

It's been almost a week since the last time I logged in. I have a 60gb PS3 so I think I'll get the error as well.

Every seems alright so far, though the error for me still pops up at times. Had to re-download everything I've bought, and some of my trophies are all gone. Reset to 0%. Rage, rage indeed.

aye, but it's an online system, date and times should be managed by psn in the first place and therefore situations like this shouldnt even come to the users attention, as long as the system is connected it should be updated automatically.

If the clock functionality is programmed a certain way then the online system won't work.

Evidently

But it's such a flawed system, the biggest global electronics manufacturer in the world over looked it. My gripe is that someone actually programmed this error into the system in the first place, meh, it's over now. Lesson learned for the PS4 i hope.

'disassosciate the clock from the mechanism allowing the playing of blu-rays'

like i said its a silly problem to have, and i personally can't see what one thing (the clock) has to do with another (disc reading laser). Or a reason for them to be linked.

That's what happened. The clock is updated everytime you log in, and it updated the way it did and that f***ed up everything...

Silly problem that should have never happened...

That's plain retarded when you think that not everyone is able to get online with their system. If all clock functionality is controlled by PSN then those who are always offline are DOA.

Everything has a error code.

It might sound like bad practices but it is not. It is much easier to troubleshoot a problem if there is an error code. It's actually fundamentally sound programming.

Donkey Kong Country > Halo

In fact, the entire DKC series > today's crap.

Um, okay... That was random.

I agree though in that nothing beats the classics.

So... SONY finally unveiled it's Wiimote

🙂

GDC 10: PlayStation Move Coverage Wrap-Up
All of the announcement's biggest news and impressions in one easy place.

March 10, 2010 - Sony finally unveiled its motion controller in full today at its GDC 2010 press conference. Officially called the PlayStation Move, the controller actually has two separate pieces. The main Move portion is what was shown at E3 2009 and features a glowing ball on the end that the PlayStation Eye (the camera) uses to locate its location. This half features an analog trigger on the back, a big, main button on the front, and the standard PlayStation face buttons (X, Circle, Square and Triangle).

The second half of the PlayStation Move equation is called the sub-controller. This doesn't have a glowing ball on the end but instead features an analog stick, D-Pad, a couple face buttons and an analog trigger on the back. It's all wireless, so unlike the Wii Nunchuck, the sub-controller doesn't need to be plugged into the main motion controller to work.

The press conference was filled with news, demos and videos, and after the conference was over we were able to get our hands on a bunch of the games for ourselves. All of our coverage on the PlayStation Move and its demoed games are compiled here for your easy browsing.

Dear Nintendo: Thank you for all your great ideas. Your pal, Sony.
