Re: PS3 Query

Hi All,I just had a quick question to ask. I just got a PS3 this Christmas, one of the 60gb models. I was just going to update it since I know a lot of the updates allow for more compatibility with PS1 and PS2 games. However, a friend of mine recent;y told me that one of the newer updates will compromise some of the backwards compatibility. I wonder if this was true or not? Also, is there anything else I should know before updating? I'm doing my own research currently but figured it would not hurt to ask here as well. Thanks in advance.
You couldn't possibly prefer it if you ever use the d-pad on it, unless you're in some kind of need for help.
LOL @ the sex box link of predators. One of my friends told me last week he was appearing offline to get away from...stalkers.
And ROFL the dude on the other page made a thread, which got merged into this thread, THEN got banned. 😂
Yes when switching weapons with the d-pad, it's not all that bad especially when having to switch isn't time-sensitive (at least I wouldn't think...unless it's a shooter. I'm talking about games like NG2) but for a fighting game and in high paced fights, LOL you might as well put in your motto "using 360 d-pad" letting people know you most likely will eff up during matches you're playing.
PS3 controller is just the PS1/PS2 dualshock with slightly more features, like a home button and ZOMGSIXAXIS. It's also > the Xbox S and/or 360 controller in comfort. Weighs less. Ain't nothing bad with it either, actually. 360 controller on the other hand...

I like the 360 controller, it fits nicely in your hands, but the D-pad is horrendous
The PS controller is much lighter and works perfectly.
If it ain't broken, don't fix it
I think the PS3 controller needs some changes.
1. The handles should be a little longer.
2. The trigger buttons blow. It's cool that they added analog trigger buttons, but they did it wrong. They should be enclaved, like an actual trigger. Not protruding outwards.
3. This is the biggest one - the control sticks are way too loose. They move too easily, too difficult to make minor movements with them. Should be tighter and have more resistance.
4. Also, it's weird how on the PS controller the D-pad is still in the main section of the controller and the left control stick is off too the side, kinda. That should be reversed since control sticks are now the main way to play.
Otherwise it's fine. The 360 controller on the other hand is pretty much perfect outside the terrible D-pad.

Agreed...with everything you said.

I've never found Sony's controllers to be very comfortable to hold, all the way back to the PS1.
