Morridini gave a good reason for having GOTM threads:

Having game of the months threads throughout the year would make game of the year simpler, simply take the winners of every month and pit them against eachother. Would be a nice way for older games (released in January-March) to keep the feeling people had towards them when they were new.
They could also be used to maintain/encourage forum activity.
Is there a justification that doesn't consist of:
"Okay, no.
We're not going to do a "game of the month" thread every month.
Just save it until the end of the year."
for not having these threads?
Time and effort was put into the creation and maintenance of those threads and unless I see a valid justification I will be petitioning for a moderatorship removal on the grounds of meaningless abuse of moderating priviliges.

either use the bulit-in wireless connection or use an ethernet cable. Hook it up, create your (master) account, log in and that's it.
You don't pay for logging in or playing online, just pay for any DLC or game you download.
Originally posted by BackFireI agree with points 2 and 3. I don't think the controller handle length is an issue at all. And I think having the sticks in line works better, it feels better having them there when you're used to it IMO. (This coming from someone who has only been using the Dualshock this generation.)
I think the PS3 controller needs some changes.1. The handles should be a little longer.
2. The trigger buttons blow. It's cool that they added analog trigger buttons, but they did it wrong. They should be enclaved, like an actual trigger. Not protruding outwards.
3. This is the biggest one - the control sticks are way too loose. They move too easily, too difficult to make minor movements with them. Should be tighter and have more resistance.
4. Also, it's weird how on the PS controller the D-pad is still in the main section of the controller and the left control stick is off too the side, kinda. That should be reversed since control sticks are now the main way to play.
Otherwise it's fine. The 360 controller on the other hand is pretty much perfect outside the terrible D-pad.
The 360 controller has it's flaws too though, the D-Pad is balls, and the ABXY buttons have a greater tendancy to stick. There is also the area on the back with the battery pack, I find my fingers going numb on the back after a lengthy gaming session.
Both fantasatic controllers though, and they both dick on the Wii's (Which can't even handle 3D movement without motion controls.)
800105F - PS3 Error Plauging Older Playstation Models.
Today (28th of February) lots of older format PS3s seem to be bricking it with an error code. It seems to be a problem with the PSN as it, downloaded content and games that use the trophy sync don't appear to be working.
I have 2 PS3s here (one is a slim) and it's only effecting the big one. Anyone else having this issue? It appears to be one on Sony's end.
Moving the thread isn't really very constructive. Having a videogame forum were threads can't individually be made about the hardware is stupid. Some people don't want to wade through pages of rubbish to read about a problem, a firmware update or anything hardware related.
It's not like the forum is going to overflow with them. Hardware is as important as the software and so should be treated to more than one thread. Why should a shit game be entitled to a thread when a global hardware error isn't?
That's my 2 cents,

Yeah, I have one of the fat ones, and that error code has struck mine.

can you still use it, or has it been bricked altogether?
It's been almost a week since the last time I logged in. I have a 60gb PS3 so I think I'll get the error as well.
and it is a widespread error indeed, only Slim models are unaffected

Sucks. Looks like a lot of PS3 owners will get to experience the lame "need purchase ticket so we can fix your ps3 free of charge" BS. That is part of the reason why I haven't bought a new PS3. That and I think the Slims will overheat/malfunction like hell.
EDIT: I just talked to a friend of mine, he was playing online last night, and then his connection got caught off. He's unable to log in, but he says he can still use the built-in web browser, and the downloads pending on the download manager are still downloading normally (some Demos and Add-ons). He's not sure about his trophies though
His is a 80gb BC PS3

One theory points to an issue with the console's internal calendar, which is reportedly resetting pre-slim models to 12/31/1999.
I'm guessing this could be fixed with a firmware update, I don't think sending it in for repairs is necessary
I've been reading and it is indeed a problem that resets the internal clock to 12/31/1999. Recent Games are said to be unplayable (all games got trophies now) like Heavy Rain. Trophies info has been deleted, DLC have also been deleted (I think all DLC, my friend said even the Resistance 1 Map Packs don't show up) and some Themes appear as Corrupted Data. Sony better fix this crap immediately
anyone seen the official statement, a bug in 'clock functionality' is the cause.
WTF? What retarded technician even made it possible for the systems clock function to even affect gameplay at all?
That would be like my toaster refusing to work...if i run out of milk.
It's a dumb problem to have , and alas, another point to the xb community
