still makes me laugh how people interpret things in their own way. based on doesnt mean its authentic. if they were authentic battles then i'm sure it would have been a simulation beat em up.

pure fanboyism

I'm gonna get the PS3 and the Wii.

Xbox 360 doesn't really impress me since it has purely shooters. Very good shooters but shooters nonetheless.

I couldn't shoot if my life depended on it....

oblivion isnt a shooter.

if i had the finds and time to spare to get a 360, that would be what'd drive me to buy it. i got the original xbox for morrowind.

I REALLY like RPGs but Oblivion (even though I recognize it's wonderful game) isn't really my kind of RPG.

And most people buy it on PC anyway.

It makes you laugh that people interpret things in different ways? dontgetit

That's kind of strange.

is it? why?

Darth, I really cant see how people interpreted it wrong?

If it says its based on authentic Japanese battles, why would it include massive crabs?

It's like saying, NBA 2k7 is based on the game of authentic basketball, would it right to have the ball become an grenade half way through?

Also, I think it's getting alot of crap because it's another bloody game about Japanese battles, like really we need another one.

Totally random question, but does anyone know if Gamefly will be carrying Next Gen games??

yes its based on... which means they've looked at the history and based their game on those... its not a simulation. i dont remember them saying it authentic either. basing a game on something means taking what you want and incorperating what you see fit and brings life to a game.

thats why i feel people have interpreted it wrong

FINALLY!!!!!! A WIRELESS HEADSET FOR 360!!!!! well...not till november...but STILL!!! 💃

Yeah, I understand.

But where does the authentic Japanese battles come from?
How would giant crabs have anythign to do with authentic Japanese battles?

I could understand if they'res battles and your hero has crazy super moves, but giants crabs has nothing to do with Japanese battles.

What happens if some developer makes an WW2 authentic battle, and half way through the Normandy beach invasion, and freaking giant crab pops out of an bunker. You would totally say what the ****.

yeah but the sony guy didnt actually say 'authentic'... based on was what i heard. based on and authentic are two seperate things.

RUN!!! GET TO DA CHOPPER!!!!!!!

If I were to say I based a book on actual events, and then I added something, or wrote something, that was completely and utterly different than what actually happened, I would get crucified.

You saw what happened to James Frey.

When somebody tries to pass something off as something that it's not, people get angry. And please, point out to me what Japanese battle a giant crab might be based on (to use you wording)?

i'm not on about the crab. doesnt anyone realise that basing something on a period of time doesnt mean its exactly how it was. it never is. a film is based on teh events of suomething, theres always going to be that hero who never existed. its like when books are based on books, lord of the rings for example. its not exact because they changed it to make it more exciting and to make it fit in the time limit. if it was a straight adaptation it would be twice as long as how it turned out.

people seem to think that when a game or film is based on events, its a straight factual event which is exactly what happenend. well in fact it is not

There's nothing wrong with the wired one. 😕

Wireless control, with a headset with a long enough cord...it doesn't bother me in the least.

And I'm agreeing with you 100%. Did I say otherwise anywhere in my posts? No.

What I am asking you is, what battle is there in Japanese history where Sony might base their idea of the giant crab on?

There is none (obviously). I'm trying to make the point that a giant crab is so unrealistic, so far deviating from anything in actual history, that Sony should not be claiming that the game is based on actual Japanese history. Because, well, it's not. At least, the giant grab isn't.

Which is exactly why (along with Sony's pig-headed attitude and immense superiority complex) gamers are getting so aggitated with the company, and why the giant crab (as one example) is getting so much attention.

Got me?
