You say yourself that HD will only be important in "2-3 years," well why doesn't Sony release an HD console then, when the majority of people will actually have a use for it? I know Mircosoft is guilty of this too, but MS isn't charging $600 simply for the fact that it's HD, which shows that the tech should NOT be as expensive as Sony insists it is.

By "all these years" you mean one year and three months, right? Because that's the full amount on time that the PS3 has been announced (actually two days shy of that, but why get technical).

Also, you either have no idea what an HDTV costs, or whatever TV you're planning on getting will be really small. The PS3 and a couple games will take more than $700 out of that money, leaving you with less than $1300 for the TV.

$1300 will not buy an average HDTV.

As someone who actually does work for his own money, and pays his part of the house and utility bills, I can tell you that $2000 is a tiny amount of money.

Oh, and you keep saying rumors are wrong. Mind showing some sources to support your point, or will it be impossible to find any?

I've played Zelda and Mario they are alright but you said bg hit right let's see wasn't Crash Bandicoot a hit and Jak and Sly they were big hits and yet Sony finihes the game in 3 games to start new ones.

I said six and pokemon was famous because of a tv show that sucked and it was about pokemon the tv show which made veryone buy that crap and don't the pokemon games suck now they get bad reviews and SSB is a new franchise from the N64 day's we are heading to the Wii and the game was about popular nintendo characters fighting and they included Mario,Link,and Samus.

Why doesn't the PS3 launch a PS3 console um...the PS3 isn't HD and you have to pay like $200 for HDDVD from the 360 which would cost together with the 360 $600 so it's the same amout of money.

I'm still working in a grocery store so I can get enough money for a decent HDTV and my parents have one in their room so I can play the PS3 there until I get my own HDTV.You prabably never worked as a child to get what you want.

You've played Zelda a million times, eh? I find that hard to believe for various reasons. One, aren't you a Sony fan? What the hell are you doing touching a Nintendo-made controller? Two, I enjoy the Zelda series very much, but I've only managed about 8 playthroughs of Ocarina of Time, 5 complete of Majora's Mask, and 4 of Wind Waker. I'm not sure, but I believe it may be temporally impossible for anyone, even a rabid Zelda fan, to have played through any of them a millioon times. Three, so you say you've played through Zelda and Mario so much, but I refuse to believe that you would play through a game you didn't enjoy (as you obviously don't) even once. People play games for fun, not for the sake of playing games.

I'm sick and tired of the Sony and Microsoft fanboys calling Nintendo "kiddie." One, what the hell is wrong with E-rated games? A great many E games are extremely fun to play, no matter how old you are. Notice that Kingdom Hearts is rated E and is filled with mostly Disney characters. Doesn't that make KH "kiddie"?

Two, four of the highest-profile games set to come out on the Wii (Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3, Red Steel, and Super Smash Bros. Brawl) are all going to be rated T. All of those except SSBB will be on shelves on launch day. Nintendo is "kiddie," right.

I can't avoid ANY new system right now. My college textbooks cost more than the PS3 and Wii COMBINED....

Hell, I'm gonna be too damn busy studying and playing FFXII anyway...

I didn't say it is for sure, but Square Enix is worried about Sony's console plans, and all the NES/SNES FFs coming to Nintendo's handhelds and FFXI on the 360 show that SE is keeping their options open if a quick jump to other consoles is necessary.

Why is it better if they finish a series and then move to something else. Speaking in terms of business practice, it's both smarter and likely more profitable to keep a winning formula, because consumers are comfortable with the past versions and would therefore be more likely to buy a new version.

You know nothing about Pokemon, do you? The anime was created because of how big a hit the game was, not the other way around. The series is even now, a financial success. SSB is a relatively new franchise, and series characters or not, the play system is unique and therefore is its own game. And as mentioned before, SSBM has been a top ten seller since the GC debuted, so they obviously got something right.

The "basic" version of the PS3 isn't HD, true, but doesn't that defeat the point you're trying to make about the PS3 being better because it's HD? The "premium" version has an HDMI port, which is required tech to put out the full bitrate of HD-DVDs and Blu-ray. Which begs the question of why the basic version has no such support, but Sony is known for not making sense much of the time.

You don't think I worked as a child? I spent the period between the GC's announcement and release mowing lawns, walking dogs, and doing extra chores. Every penny I spent that day was my hard-earned own, thank you very much. Also, you seem to think I'm rather old. I happen to be the exact demographic of 18-year-old white male that Sony intends to market their console to. The fact that I don't want one, nor do the vast majority of 18-year-old white males that I know, goes to show that Sony is doing something wrong.

1:Yes I am a sony fan but I have a gamecube and N64 I played Zelda and Mario on both systems and nothing changes much Zelda is just another pozzle game and Mario isn't special the game sucked it had horrible camera angle there is nothing special I see in them.

2:Your stupid your really really stupid when I say I played it a million times I'm saying I played them alot I played almost all Zelda games and 2 Mario games.

3:To tell you the truth I found OoT a very good game but after that it's the samething I borrowed both Mario's the N64 one was alright but the second one was awful.

4:I never said gameplay didn't matter and that grapic's are better I said that grapic's are also important everyone is sucked into nintendo gay speech about grapic's don't matter it's all about gameplay they are just to cheap to make the grapic's better so they make the gayiset speeches possible and I like the PS3 because of the amazing tech the devolepers can take advantage but they are to ****ing lazy and cheap that instead they will work on the wii crap and I am a gamer don't qusetion that dumbass.

Zelda is not a puzzle game. Zelda is action-adventure, with some puzzle elements within dungeons. And Super Mario 64 was the basis of most 3rd person adventure games nowadays, camera and all. It showed people how to properly control both movement and camera in a 3D environment, and many other games since have followed that lead.

My comment on having played a million times was obviously not serious. I feel for you if you don't have a sense of humor that can take a time out and laugh at sarcasm. Also, personally insulting someone is a good way to get banned.

I mean if you play a game like MGS or the new Zelda and you start playing the original Zelda as much as the gameplay is good you won't like it as much because the grapic's feel outdated it's old just like that stuff Hideo Kojima said games not being art.If a person see's an old painting and like's it they will say wow it's really beautiful but if they play an old game they won't say wow they would just think the gameplay is great but they won't say wow this game is the best because of the grapic's so in the next-next gen I don't want to see nintendo giving out horrible grapics and say the gameplay is great and innovative it's crap nintendo is full of crap

I have a question. I think the only gripe people have with the PS3 is not the games, or hardware or the controller...it's the price.

Which begs the question: Would you be willing to buy a PS3 if it was at a reasonable price for you?

I usually wait for my systems' prices to drop...like a year or two.

I didn't buy the Playstation or N64 until year after it launched.

Saying games are kiddie (and therefor making them unplayable for older people) is just plain stupid since it was created for kids and it's a sad excuse not to like Nintendo if you ask me 😬 I dont remember people complaining about video games being "kiddie" during the 80's so why start now? @Draco69: If the PS3 was a normal price, and as long as the game license thing goes away, I would very much consider buying a PS3. I was very, very excited about MGS4 and RE5 and FFXIII. Yet the $600 price tag dropped like a bomb, and I, being a rather sane person, cringe at the thought of pouring so much money into a console, and then paying $60-$100 more for one game.

Well, MGS, NES Zelda and Super Mario Bros. are all considered classics because if you're looking for a fun gaming experience, you'll find it in them. I'm not saying that current-gen or next-gen games aren't or won't be fun, but back then the focus was on making fun games, and as a result you get FUN GAMES. Even now, people play SMB, and no, they don't say "Wow, this game is the best because of the graphics," they say "Wow, this game is the best because it's just so fun to play!"

And last I checked, many people aren't worried about graphics as much anymore, because they know they are going to get better as time passes. People have realized that current games have a trend of just being shinier versions of other games with different characters and names slapped on, and are calling for new games that are fun to play.

People WANT innovative games.

Well, to be fair Nintendo went through particularly bad times and got bashed too.

The N64 is remarkably similar to the PS3 in alot of ways regarding hardware pricing.

And Gamecube got mercilessly bashed for being too "kiddie"...and they were....it's just merely Sony's turn to be humbled like Nintendo when they were arrogant and brash with their marketing.

Actually, Nintendo isn't saying anything bad about Sony, because direct insults would hurt them as a company. Everything bad that's been said about the PS3 has come from the mouths of the masses. Meaning gamers without $600 to waste.

And the public media. And game corporations. And their sponsers. And their shareholders.

Sony isn't completely stupid. The price is a major issue that is voiding most gamers wishes to buy one. The corporations is getting assailed by the media and analysts from every side.

People, Sony's gonna do something. I don't know what it is specifially. Maybe a much needed price drop or a bundle package with six games. Who knows? But Sony's shareholders, joint market corporations and the industy itself is putting MAJOR pressure on Sony to do SOMETHING to sell the PS3 profitably.

Many people think Sony's just gonna be arrogant and do what they want...but it's not up to them. It's up to the shareholders who practically own the company and the joint corporations who have alot of financial stake in the PS3 doing well...like Square-Enix.
