Actually, Nintendo isn't saying anything bad about Sony, because direct insults would hurt them as a company. Everything bad that's been said about the PS3 has come from the mouths of the masses. Meaning gamers without $600 to waste.

I saw an episode of Gamehead and they were interviewing Reggie and he smack talked Sony two time one on how no one is playing the sony games and the other one I forgot.Matt hughes will take care of him.

Well, when the editor of PSM says she's not getting a PS3, that tells ya ALOT of how Sony is alienating its' gamer audience with the hefty hoofer price tag...

I have a question. I think the only gripe people have with the PS3 is not the games, or hardware or the controller...it's the price.

Which begs the question: Would you be willing to buy a PS3 if it was at a reasonable price for you?

I usually wait for my systems' prices to drop...like a year or two.

I didn't buy the Playstation or N64 until year after it launched.

I would consider it. However, many of the games that first looked promising on the PS3 have now become multi-platform. There's really nothing that would warrant purchasing it for me since I already have a 360 (and I'm loving it).

Furthermore, don't forget the price of the games: upwards of $70 or $80 bucks for a single game? No way.

$80??

😱

Where'd you hear that?

I follow whereever the games are going. Alot of people scream loyalty to the corporation, I just mindlessly follow my fav series whereever it goes.

If Final Fantasy went over to Atari, I'd probably buy their system.

It's about third-party support with me.

They should fire her for betraying Sony no one does that to Sony no one.

I believe it was Kutaragi himself who said that PS3 games would be between $60 and $100.

And Draco, that's a good view. At the end of the day, console loyalty is pointless. If I had remained the console loyalist I was back when the GC came out, I never would have played the KH series or KotOR.

After all, the console is just how you get the games to work. The games are what people should be obsessing over, not the bundle of hardware that just puts the game on a screen.

They should fire her for having an honest opinion and not pandering to the reader base?

I personally am happy to see that someone with a certain amount of influence over Sony fans is acting intelligently.

Have you ever played MGS3 if you have then you should know about loyalty to your country but in this case it's loyalty to sony!

THE INTERNET SERIOUS BUSINESS VERY SERIOUS

So many people want to see Kutaragi fired....

Exactly. Which is why this console war is ridiculous. I'll probably get all three systems in the end if they have something I really want.

I agree...but she's probably getting fired anyway. Numero Uno in employee obligations: do not diss your firm's product and advocate the purchase of the opposing product. She's brave...but stupid. She's probably well on her way to collecting her last paycheck...

Why you think that?

Because I think $600 is to much for video games. I don't care how many games there(which there is barely any IMO) i think you are dumb if you pay $600 to play games. That is, unless you are rich.

Let's see the GC sold 20 million and the PS2 sold around 103 million units hm I don't think I'm dumb if I buy a PS3 because there are a bunch of games I'm looking forward to getting like MGS4,Resistance,UT07,and Aassains Creed.I'm also looking forward to the tilt sensor feature. No I'm not dumb all the games Nintendo make are 20 years old and I'm tired of Mario,Zelda, and Metroid so go buy the di...I mean Wii. 💃

I said the Ps3 will sell well, so I don't know why the hell you posted that the Ps2 sold more. Hmmm... i guess you are dumb.

Assasins Creed is coming to 360 and PC only, i thought. And i think the rest you mentioned come to Xbox also, besides MGS. So you would rather play $600, and play MGS and all the other games, or pay $400, all the other games, plus some 360 exclusives, without MGS4.

The only thing about that is that if the editor is suddenly fired, and she recently stated that she did not support the PS3, every reader of the magazine will know instantly why she was fired. And since she simply stated her own opinion, something allowed by freedom of speech, firing her will reflect very, VERY badly on Sony.

On the point of price, something will slip up. Either the PS3 will make only a small percentage of the expected sales in the first week or two, and Sony will realize their mistake and lower the price, or the developers will preempt the financial failure and tell Sony to stop being idiots before they move to the other systems.

Never heard of such obligations. I work for a cable company and if someone where to ask my opinion on which is better in a certain aspect and I answer Dish TV...that shouldn't get me fired. I'm still working and providing production for my work. I would be fired for not doing my job. But for giving my opinion? Nah!

On the topic of pricing. I keep reading "I'm buying all three consoles and blah, blah, blah" which is pretty nice. But down to earth....I don't need all three consoles. My schedule allows me to play video games at certain times. I can't see how in the world would I fit my schedule into playing three different consoles and tons of video games. I've already have 360 which is good enough. I'am planning to get DS Lite this christmas....that should be plenty of hours gone into video gaming.

Or no one will care about her being fired and buy the PS3 then the woman that got fired would turn on her 360 and find out it doesn't work and she just wasted on crap and find the errors of her ways.

Completely different concept. The editor's job is basically be the parrotfashion of Sony's Playstation. If the editor of a magazine called the Playstation Magazine says: "Don't buy the system" and that magazine reflects directly on Sony AND is sold to millions of people around the globe...than yeah, she's in trouble.

It's like the Energizer Rabbit saying Energizer batteries suck.

I would buy all three consoles to play different games that exclusive to that console that I really want. For example, I played FFX on PS2, RE4 on Gamecube and Fable on Xbox. It's all about exclusivity for me.

You may play alot of games but I only play the worthwhile ones on seperate consoles.

I think you are seriously overestimating the stupidity of a large group of people. A magazine editor fired for no real legal reason will definitely cause dissension in the reader base, and many will react to Sony's bad move by deciding against the PS3.

As for the 360, though I don't own one yet, I plan to later on both when I can use money for a gaming system, and the 360's price has dropped a bit more. It's a good system, with several decent games and a few very good ones. And this means a lot coming from someone like me, who never bought an XBox nor plans to. Microsoft figured something out and fixed what was wrong with the XBox, because I want a 360.

You have a point. She may not get fired but she will get some sort of "punishment". Maybe a wack at her wage.

And I also agree with your buying strategy. I simply don't understand people who buy new technology at launch day. It's ridiculously expensive, there's nothing much supporting it and it's bound to be glitchy.

HAH.

Hahahahaha.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the referrel of OoT as the 'original' Zelda game.

Learn some damn gaming history, kid.

And loyalty to a system is just stupid, especially when games you like end up on other systems. I had an NES as a child, then a Sega Genesis because I had wanted games like Sonic, then an N64 for Mario and Zelda, and a PSX because of Final Fantasy. My brother and I decided to get a PS2 over the other two systems because of two games -- FFX and GTA. Guess what, chances are highly likely that neither of those two games will be exclusive to PS3, so there's no need or desire for us to drop a ton of money on that system. We've decided already that we're going in together to get a Wii (probably a month or two after launch), and if FFXIII and GTA wind up on 360 (which we feel is very likely), well, we'll be buying that once they come out.

I'm not playing any of the next generation systems for at least a year. FFXII will keep me busy!

W00t!!

💃

And if I have time, so will Okami and God of War 2.

Okami looks very original.

Ahh yes, FFXII, can't forget that, one of the last games to be released on the PS2!

Speaking of, the release date's already doing it's little dance. Which is annoying.

I DO like Heavenly Sword. Ass-kicking chicks always do it for me.
