Guys, if you arent going to be serious please leave this forum. This forum is for those who really want to know about our religion. Who want to know the truth about it. Don't listen to anything anybody tells you about our religion unless it is somebody who is part of our religion, we are the only ones that actually know what our church teaches.

You’ll be praising the lord in no time.
gues I be either a yiaourti or a tadziki priesthood then

Different translations, yes, but one is more correct than the other. The one you are using is mis-translated, making it completely wrong. It's like I tell one person something, they tell somebody else the exact way I told them. The third person forgets something, so he/she adds something. By the time it's been passed down it's so out of truth, it's pathetic. King James version is the most correct version of the Bible due to the fact it's basically a direct translation. And to answer your question, it is not okay to have slaves, but ask me. Personally I think it would be okay, if you do the right thing and let them free after you purchased them. Hmm, now wouldn't that be different than owning a slave? I mean you buy them, let them go, and wow you have no slaves. But that is my personal opinion on "buying" slaves. To own, or keep a slave... no, it is morally wrong, and a sin before God. And please, refrain yourself from using such a language please. You have so far done well on the other requests of us, so we would also appreciate it if you would do this also. Thank you, talk to you people later!!! (in a figure of speaking)

You're completely missing the point. Ok, I used a mistranslated version, you were right, I was wrong.
Now, according to you, homosexuality is wrong because the bible says so. If the bible says it's ok to own slaves, why shouldn't we own slaves??

I see you've all been infiltrated... 😂

wonder if they should be considered(on) LSD coke

That is so kewl! I'm really happy for you! Must have been a cool experience.

Dont' worry RAB, Ramses, they're pretty harmless, just ignore them if they bug you.

Hey, Shakyamunison, finti, Eis, Debbiejo, better my cult than yours! 😛

Eis, we practice what has been revealed to us by God for his saints today, which is no slavery, no homosexuality. Just becuase it's in the bible doesn't mean we practice it. You guys are usually very insistent that things have a biblical reference though, so we gave you one. Don't try to throw it back in our faces. 🙄

I'm not in a cult...at least not anymore....

Brainwashed? again with the brainwashing, ive explained this to you already. I am not brainwashed, I spent two years on my own away from any religious affiliation. For those two years, it was just me and the Lord, helping me to understand what he wants for me, what the truth is. After two years, i finally realized what was true. I am proud to call myself a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. I know that it is the truth.

The reason why I say listen to members, is because they actually go to our church, know what our church teaches. they listen with spiritual ears, and watch with spiritual eyes. The ones outside the church have been brainwashed, and sent by satan to destroy the church. It is Satan's work to stop our church, and bring all men to be miserable like unto himself.

o ya, Happy Birthday Ramsey

You say things like this and don't see how that looks like brainwashing and paranoia? If I were to say to you, only my religion is the true religion, and that you are controlled by Satan, you would say I was brainwashing and paranoia. The truth is, you believe a myth, but I don’t think there is anything wrong with believing a myth. If you are happy and peaceful in your own belief, then I am happy for you. However, this mind set “you are controlled by Satan” is evil, because it makes non-Mormons less human then Mormons. This is how, in history, different religions have murdered thousands of people, over time, in the name of God. You don’t understand how God works, and my relationship with God is not something you can judge.

Since no social threads are being allowed in the Religion forum, I have renamed this thread so that only discussions on Mormons takes place.

We as members would not call you brainwashed. Well, some wouldn't, but others may. The more righteous wouldn't, because they know it would be offensive. You call us brainwashed, but yet every truth that we've found, we looked on our own diligently. Others are just there to teach us, and help us along the way. I went to another church before this one, and I learned nothign spiritual there. I never once felt the spirit before until I joined the church. I am proud to be a member of the church that Christ has put on the earth today. And has anybody taken my challenge yet? Nobody has mentioned it, so please do not say you know our church better than us, when you haven't even read, pondered and prayed on the Book of Mormon. For those who have not seen my challenge in here, I challenge you all to read, ponder, and pray on the Book of Mormon. Then come back and tell me what you think. It is my faith that I testify unto you all that you will find the truth that God has set forth on this world.

And thank you to all those in here who are friends of mine. I am glad you guys are here in this forum, for it's helped me quite a bit on understanding certain things. May the spirit be with you in your dealings, and may you be the light of the world!

^ Because someone is not interested in your challenge does not me that you are superior. Your challenge is a superficial one with no meaning to me. It would be like, me telling you to read and ponder the Lotus sutra.

Also, I for one would not tell you about your religion, that would be like you telling me about mine.

We all have our dilutions, what matters is what we do with them.

I want to read the Lotus Sutra. 🙂

I'm actually very interested in Buddhism. It seems like a great way to live. I am still very strong in my own beliefs as a Mormon, but I am also interested in other religions as well. Everyone has a bit of truth, especially the Eastern religions...even Joseph Smith said so (if you were curious).

He was not trying to seem superior by mentioning his challenge, so please don't think that. He was just making a comment on it. Some people may be interested, some may not. It was not meant to be offensive.

And someone commented earlier about Satan controlling people...something or other. Satan has a hand in nearly everything that every person on this planet does, no matter who they are and what they believe. You don't have to believe in the devil...but no one can deny that there is a presence at times that makes you make a bad choice in your life. It's part of the conscience. You have your good side (angel on the shoulder) and your bad side (devil on the other shoulder) and they both influence everything you do. Some people are not all that tuned into their better judgement. Some are tuned in rather well.

And yes, I believe that my church is the true church of God on this Earth. I believe it because it is so for me....it may not be so for you. I do not believe my church is a cult...and I do drink Coke...though I prefer Rootbeer. Yes, it may be categorized as a cult, but I am not a slave to the prophet of the church. He is not so charismatic over me that I have no mind of my own. He is a sweet and funny old man who has a great outlook on life, but that's about it. I do however, worship my Heavenly Father. Yes, I am told to do so, every Christian child is brought up that way, but it is my choice to do it or not to.

GOD GAVE US ALL FREE WILL. The gift of choice! It's what lets you come on this thread and pick on us or not...and it's what gives us the ability to argue back or to explain ourselves calmly. Since I've started meditating I've really mellowed out. I would really suggest it to everyone...it helps.

Basically...this thread is for anyone...hence it's on a public forum. It's labeled as Mormons now...so if you have anything to say about Mormons...this would be the place. We appreciate positivity, but we understand that some individuals are incapable of such feats. We love you anyway.

So anyways...Congrats Ramses and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Thank you for treating me kindly and with respect. I normally don't come to this thread out of respect. I only came here the other night because a friend, who has a bad attitude about religion, was here causing trouble. I tried to get rid of him, but then I say the way people were responding to him. In my mind someone strong in his or her belief will respectfully put him in his place, but if they are true to their belief that too will show itself. What I saw was respectful, but seemingly arrogant. So I tested the waters and got your reply. I am so glad you did. You should see the response I get from some Christians.

My main problem with Christianity is focused primarily on the Baptists and the like; I was raised in that hell, and it has taken me a long time to get over that. However, when I was younger, I had a friend who was Mormon and he told me a lot about the religion. So, I know a lot, not everything, but enough to realize that you generally are good. I am glad you feel strong in your religion, and I support you in your faith. You might find that strange, but my religion (Nichiren Buddhism) is not at war with anyone. I support all religions and believe that they all see a view of the truth. Even the ones I rail against (I am on a personal journey to purge the demons of my past).

I don’t believe in a Satan, but I understand and agree with how you put it. I feel that if you say there is a Satan, then if you do wrong, you don’t have to take responsibility. My faith is all about responsibility, and I believe that much of the evil things in the world are caused by people refusing to take responsibility. If you are not responsible, you can do great evil. But I know that responsibility is part of your teaching and that is one of the reasons I wanted to make myself clear.

I don’t believe Mormons are a cult anymore than any other religion. I think it is used as a bad word to beat at you. I understand this, if you look my religion up on the Internet, you will find many evil untrues said about us. This we have in common. We also have great piece among our members, as I know you also do. Maybe that is why they call us both cults, because we have something they cannot have.

I think we should talk about yogurt again. 😄

So, ok. Homosexuality is wrong because the bible says it's wrong.
If that's your logic then since the bible also says it's ok to have slaves, logically, it's ok.
