No, RAB... after you're outta school, you're not considered a youth anymore. My class graduated last year, and I haven't been in school for two years now. Sad, isn't it? Oh well, that is life and we all move onward whether we want to or not. Anyways, I got a dance to go to today, and I'm going to make sure it's fun. Hopefully, Cheryl, isn't there... it'd be crappy if not, but hey... I don't have to go through all those memories again do I? lol!!! Well, have fun everybody, ttyl!

Hey guys...
I had the best time last night. There is this new guy here from South Carolina and he's just great! He's a lot like the person I'm working to become. He's very zen (can't think of anything else to call him). Well, he's kind of hippy zen. Does that make sense?
We went out for ice cream last night and came back to my place where we talked (we- being me, Josh, and Darcy) and we laughed so hard. I haven't laughed that hard in ages. I almost peed in my pants. It was fantastic! I miss having local friends...cuz Darcy lives across the state now. Luckily Josh lives here for now...until May. He's going to teach me to do Yoga and Tae Kwon Do. And he's really gung-ho about sharing the gospel. He's just awesome...and he looks a lot like Frodo. He has curly hair to his chin...and he's a little on the short side...so that's really what makes him look like Frodo...mostly. He's growing his hair out for Locks of Love. How sweet is that?! And he and I share the same taste in music and movies. I have a new best friend here...yay!
I just read something very interesting in the New Era that reminded me that someone said that the prophet couldn't have lifted the plates becuase they would have been 200 lbs.
That would be true, IF THEY WERE A SOLId BLOCK OF GOLD. But curch historians believe that they were not. They said that they were probably first of all, two layers, a hard metal coated with a softer gold ALLOY that the engraving were put onto. The middle part would keep the characters from going all the way through.
It's possible that because alloys are lighter, and there would have been air pockets beteween the different pages, the plates could in fact, have only been 40-60 pounds as estimated by those who had seen them!

I'd rather not. Looks like a good movie and all, but why watch something that will break my heart because it directly rebels and degrades something I so fully believe in?
Sure, everyone has free will. I don't even care if you choose to take that free will and become gay. As long as you're happy, but when there is a movie made based on a Mormon guy turning away from the church to become openly gay then there will be a form of hatred and cunning persuasion against the church....obviously. I just don't care to see it. I have had my own issues with the church and come through them and I'm happier than I have ever been...and still with the church.
I'm taking sacrament today ....again! BOOYAH! WHOO!
I'm worthy! Ya hear that baby?! WORTHY!

Hey, I am very happy for you, Kella. I have got some grand news also, and it deals with me being worthy. Next sunday I should be getting set apart for the Melchezdik(sp?) priesthood. President Fletcher wants to move forward, so we're taking a big step this week in doing so. I don't know what it is, or why I am to move foward so quikly, but the spirit was there and told me to listen to my branch president. I love the power of Revelation, and the miracles God works. Anyways, I love you all, and hope you all have a grand day!!!

But he had to leave the church cause they wouldn't accept him for he was. It was the church that hated him, not the other way around.
Whoever said the church hated him? The church hates nobody. There are guidelines that God has set forth for members of the church. These should be your standards, and if you cannot accept them, then you do not accept the guidelines God has set. You commit a huge sin, and do not repent of it, then of course you'll be punished. No unclean thing can be in the presence of God. Being gay would make you unclean, so you cannot be in the presence of God. Being gay goes against the teachings, the guidelines, and against the commandments so the church has to keep it's good name, and let others know that gay practices are not within our church. I hope you can understand this. The church did not, nor did God forsake the people who are gay, they forsake the church, and God. Your choice, not the churchs. So, please do not say our church hates people that do not meet the guidelines or standards. We do not accept them as worthy members, but we do not hate them. The church loves them, and strives much to have them return unto the fold. We cry repentance, not damn others to hell.
Anyways, who's all happy? I am!!!
Ok, we've already explained this, the church is perfect, the people aren't. If they wouldn't be kind to him as Christ commmands thats their problem. While he would not, as ramses said, be worthy, that is not to say he must be done away with.
Hate the sin, not the sinner.
Personally, when I saw that video at a movie store, I was offended. It was a direct attempt to do nothing but demean our church, it's people, and it's standards.
I don't hold with stuff like that.
It's like those comic's of muhamed for the muslims, while I don't agree with how they're handeling it, I firmly negate that the creator, and publisher, of that comic had any kind of respect or human decency to print those. grrrrr.
Anywho, I'm so happy for you guys! Go kella and Ramses! whoot whoot!
BTW, thanks sooo much for the schedule Kella! My bishop canceled missionary week (*sob*), so we didn't have any reason to do our activity the following week and are open for the Bytheway thing! whoot whoot! ๐ฑ

As Ramses has said, the church did not hate him, and he may not have hated the church. He just has a different lifestyle then is normal. The church allows gays to be in the church, as long as they don't act on their feelings. There are many in the church, i can almost gurantee it. They are worthy, as long as they are not acting on the feelings they have. If it was ok to be gay, God would have created a way for humans to reproduce without women, and would have created another man instead of Eve. Being gay is against what God believes and what the church believes, but that does not mean that the church will not accept gays into the church, they just will not allow them to act on their feelings.
RAB, I agree there are many gays within the church. Though I do not find them to be worthy, if they have that feeling. You know how the church teaches if you think about her like that, then you have lusted within your heart, and is the same as commiting the sin. I think that same thing plays the same role in the situation of people who have those feelings. If a guy, or girl has a sexual attraction to the same sex, and has feelings of such, then isn't it the same as acting? Feelings influence a lot of things on how people think, and day dream. I agree that homosexuality is a sin, and I know it to be. I have a couple friends who disagree, and sad thing is they're members. I will not support people in being gay, but I will not critisize them. It's not my decision, and not my place to judge. I will let them know I do not agree, but I will not make them feel any lower than me. I do not find anybody being gay, or having those feelings and accepting them to be worthy. Ask me, it'll play into the commandment "thou shalt not commit adultry" and so forth. To lust for the opposite sex is a sin, even if it's in the mind and not acted upon. So, wouldn't lusting for the same sex, even if it's not being acted on be a sin also? So, RAB, be careful on how you word things. There are no worthy gay people, and I am sure of this. I am sure there are some people in the church that are gay who hide that part of them, and lie to their bishop. Sorry to disagree, RAB, but I am disagreeing with you on this.
Anyways, my name went before the stake high council and presidency tonight. I'll know tomorrow whether I'll be getting set apart sunday or not. I surely I hope I do, and I have faith in the Lord. When I was in the office with my branch president, the spirit was there testifying that what President Fletcher was asking of me was from the Lord, and what the Lord sought. I know that the Lord will not do anything, unless it seemeth good to Him. I know that this being good to the Lord, this will be good for me. He knows me, and knows what it will take for me. So, He took an extra step with me, and I guess you can say pushed me. I will let you all know tomorow whether I get to be set apart sunday or not. I love you all, and hope the best for you. May the spirit be with you, and grant you guidance through your day.
Same!
good luck about the ordanation!
Sorry for the silent spell.
Ummmm, I found some new scriptures (I'm going to try to have a scripture reference I like memorized for every book in the book of mormon, tell me what you think of them!) and a great hymn, so here they are:
1 Nephi 12: 16 (short sweet and too the point);
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
I like that as a reason why christ kept the nail marks in his hand.
2 Nephi 2: 4;
4 And thou hast beheld in thy youth his glory; wherefore, thou art blessed even as they unto whom he shall minister in the flesh; for the Spirit is the same, yesterday, today, and forever.
And the way is prepared from the fall of man, and salvation is free.
Jacob 4: 5-7 (all of chapter 4 is pretty amazing);
5 Behold, they believed in Christ and worshiped the Father in his name, and also we worship the Father in his name. And for this intent we keep the law of Moses, it pointing our souls to him; and for this cause it is sanctified unto us for righteousness, even as it was accounted unto Abraham in the wilderness to be obedient unto the commands of God in offering up his son Isaac, which is a similitude of God and his Only Begotten Son.
6 Wherefore, we search the prophets, and we have many revelations and the spirit of prophecy; and having all these witnesses we obtain a hope, and our faith becometh unshaken, insomuch that we truly can command in the name of Jesus and the very trees obey us, or the mountains, or the waves of the sea.
7 Nevertheless, the Lord God showeth us our weakness that we may know that it is by his grace, and his great condescensions unto the children of men, that we have power to do these things.
(and for fun) Jacob 6: 12;
12 O be wise; what can I say more?
Yeah, that's where I am so far on the at least one per book thing...
I remembered another hymn I really like:
If you could hie to Kolob
