Namor can fly with way faster speeds then we thought!

But even if she did manage to pull off this stunt. . . would the sonic boom effect her? and how many times has she done something like this?

Because hey Namor had to do it multiple times for it to count too right? So shouldn't Storm have to as well?

Huh? 😑 There hasn't been anything yet shown to say she can reach Mach 1 or 2... so in answer to your question about how many times... it's zero so far. The New Orleans to Westchester I'm personally disregarding as CIS - Claremont induced stupidity.

lol. . . that's why I said if.

If she did manage to do what is claimed (still not actuall proven).

😛

I still think Storm can only fly as fast as the wind. RAcing cannonball is understandable if she rode his wake with a pressure feild up to prote ct her from his blast feild, as she'd just be riding in his wake, less air resistence since he just pushed the air put of the way.

(btw keep that in mind for racing games you play in the future, it works on games that program that in like the Mario kart games)

Mario Kart factors in head and tail winds?

64 did at least. . . The first one didn't. . but I didn't need that in the original one.

Haven't tried double dash yet, as my cube broke. 😬

not very noticeably, unless you're toad behind bowser, but there seems to be a very minor change.

anyway, something that hasn't been addressed in terms of storm's flight is that wind is subject to wind resistance. go outside on a cold day, and watch how your breath billows into a cloud when you breathe out. breathe as hard as you like, it'll still turn from a compressed jet into a floating cloud after a foot or so. so, for storm to effectively push enough wind to support her weight through an air-laden medium at speeds of up to mach whatever would cause incredible turbulence, and any attempt to control that much resistance (by subtly accelerating a path of air ahead of her, dispersing air around her, whatever) would be incredibly difficult to deal with. that is, if wind is even capable of maintaining a directional path at such high speeds...

storm hitting mach speeds is completely implausible, and an easily discredited theory when there's no concrete proof.

I'm a twitchy bastard. . I tend to notice things other people don't.

Evidence I'm a twitchy bastard:

smash brothers? i always sucked at that game...

why do you not except the fact that storm can go amch speeds?

1)she has gone mach 3 before, i don't have the issue with me though, but it has happened

2)she did the new orleans to new york thing

3)she flew from the x-mansion to england in about a half a day, which when you think about it would be between 6 and 12 hours. she did this while having fun, and doing flips and when she landed she wasn't even tired at all

^^those are just off the top of my head. she has speed that impressed the human torch, and said that she had enough speed to make a race out of their fight. she can obviously fly fast, what don't you get about this? your not giving her the credit she deserves, and when the examples are provided for you, you completley ignore them. i mean her wind speed was too much even for jean greys tk, and she's an omega level tk. her wind speed scared iceman, and he had to hide in an ice-shield. what don't you get?

1) Kitty Pryde can shoot Omega beams... I could show you... but I won't...
2) New York to New Orleans in minutes is BS. Unless you think she can fly at Mach 15.
3) Perhaps you don't realize that New York to London in 12 hours is 287 mph. Which is perfectly consistent with the handbook speed. No doubt you'll now say she did it in 6. In which case it's still not Mach speed.

1)is a complete lie, because everyone would know she can't. for storm it's a different case considering she has done this before.

2)her speed is only backed by determination and her will to bend earths and natures rules, nothing says she can't if she would really want to. yes it doesn't seem possible, but namor flying with little wings would be half the speed of storm if you actually thought about it

3)the time was unknown, my guess is it's between 6 to 12 hours, considering she left during daylight, and got there during daylight. and the fact that she was having fun and wasn't in a hurry points out that she wasn't going her top speed.

Wouldn't it be kind of possibile for Storm to operate at Mach 15? With her HUMAN reaction time, he would bump into things and die in seconds.

Tell the issue numbers. Show scans. Anything, to prove it.

I think it's unfair that I need to prove everything with MULTIPLE scans, and others have hard time telling simple issue numbers.

And remember folks, you flying into something at 15 times the speed of sound is the same as that thing flying into you at 15 times the speed of sound.

Dollar bills and toothpicks can embed themselves in trees and concrete through force of winds, winds whose top speed is 300 mph. . . significantly less than the speed of sound. So if she were to hit a bug at 15 times the speed of sound. . .

I dont have the issues at hand but In Uncanny X-men just before the whole "Shadow King using Polaris as a nexus thing on Muir Isle" Storm kept up with the blackbird in the air. It was during her short bob phase lol.

However until i can get hold of scans i accept thats not conclusive.

Fastest recorded wind speed since scientists began measuring is 318 mph, however F6 wind speeds up to 400 mph have been claimed but never verified officially. So to be honest she could conceivably pull off 400+ mph speeds but i cant push for mach speeds until i dig up that issue.

Has anyone got it?

try sticking your hand out a car window at 80mph or more when it's raining... it stings

(but don't do it if you're the one who is driving 🙄 )

If you drive a motorcycle at 80 miles per hour, your cheeks fill with air and it kind of feels like your face is trying to tear itself off. And if a bug hits you at that speed it feels like tiny lumberjacks climbed onto your shoulder and are hitting your head with their adorable but deadly axes. It hurts. If the Flash really ran at the speed of light, you'd find his body about 200 miles away from where the wind sheared his skin off, and he'd have a beachball-sized hole in his chest from where he hit a grasshopper at a zillion billion miles an hour.
