heheeh i remember a similar thread like this made a while ago, where I stated that even my grandma who's never been to the US or "clicks" with modern-day pop culture" knows who Supes is.

Supe's symbol goes beyond his comic role.
I love DBZ but seriously Goku sucks compared to supes.
Ive seen every episode of DBZ an GT.
Ive also read 10-15 years of superman comics.
Supermans powers are vastly beyond any DBZ character.
If you've read them you would know.
Also Goku is a direct rip off of Superman, this was admitted by the man that created DBZ. An in one episode of DB a cheesy version of supes makes a cameo appearance, paying homage.
Superman is the ultimate superhero b/c every other character references him in some way. Whether it's by looks, values, powers, etc.
Even mannerisms. Check out "Spiderman 1" where P.P. rips his shirt Superman style to reveal his Spidey suit. And I could've sworn I saw him do it again in the latest "Spiderman 3" trailer
well the kids will say he's copying spiderman because they will think spiderman came up with that... lol bloody kids, some dont know who superman is (the kids that arent geeks in comic books but like the comic movies of course) but there are a lot of kids like that and they all like spiderman because of the movies... so superman will unluckily get hated by little kids as they'd think he's mimicing spiderman when history shows every hero springs down from superman!!!! lol god damn it

The second part of your statement may have some credence but it'll never wash with me for the mere reason that Goku is a Superman ripoff.
In other words if Superman would've never existed Goku wouldn't either.
Goku was not killed by Cell. He simply instant transmitted himself and Cell to King Kai's planet b/c Cell was going to destroy himself and the Earth. Goku did that to save the earth. He wasn't killed by Cell. Listen, you idiots are really starting to piss me off with your lack of knowledge about DBZ. Try and get your stuff str8 before you say things. Superman can't even fight Fists of the North Star. And look at your name, that's AWESOME! Ken Shiro is a BADASS! He's a master of martial arts. YOu're gonna tell me if he wasn't he would be just as AWESOME!! Ofcourse not. Superman doesn't know martial arts. Goku has studied the art of fighting his ENTIRE LIFE!! Superman couldn't even hit him. I dont' even think Superman could see him, since he uses instant transmission when he battles. And instant transmission is beyond any speed Superman can atttain. Superman could throw a few punches. lol But before he knew what happend he'd get a spinning wheel kick right to the side of his head by Goku and then have a hole blown right through his body with a KKAAMMEEHHAAMMEEHHAA!!!!!!!!
The only way Superman could win is if he kidnapped Chi Chi and hid her from Goku and demanded that Goku surrender or he would kill her. Then Superman would have a chance.
