The first and the best. He is the ultimate superhero.

Batman is great coz he's the worlds greatest crimefighter/detective and Spiderman is great coz he has the best fights and loads of them because he has loads of brilliant villains, most of whom are on a par with him (power-level wise) and seems to spend most of his time defending himself against the many bad guys who have it in for him.

Batman will lock up the most criminals and spidey will lock up many too! They can both save you from criminals, muggers, bank robbers etc but supes will stop them while the're committing the act.He'll save you from an earthquake, a fire.......the end of the world....anything. No job too big or too small.

he's the ultimate, because no matter how big or small an act of evil is, he will always oppose it for the good of the human race.

While you have the others(superheroes), superman is the pushing force for everyother hero that came after him, (basically all the one's we know now)

Simply yes he is the ultimate, popular is different, although he is still fairly popular, and again, well known is different again, because he is the most well known superhero.

yes..it is undeniable, globally speaking, he is the most popular superhero, the quintessential good guy, the champion of good against the bad..as much as i hate to admit it, he simply is, and will always be the first that comes to mind when you say the word "superhero", because thats who he is, and his name says it all, he is..superman.

as for the most powerful superhero, **cough goku cough** that is for another thread entirely... 😮‍💨

Superman is the most POPULAR superhero, not the ultimate. Goku is the ultimate superhero.

goku never enters my mind as "a" hero of our comics, he's more foreign and beside he doesn't compare to superman, everyone knows that... secretly or otherwise...!

When I think of Goku, I think of him as just one of the many anime action heroes that flood Japan's toon scene. When I think of Superhero I think Superman.

Lets see if Goku lasts as long as Superman. Superman's been out since what, the 30's? And Goku the 80's? And he's got nothing out really. Supermans' still going strong with current 'toons, movies, comics - Justice League is out- and much more. So he's definitely more popular on top of being the ultimate.
