NP, I just get fed up with all those people (not only here but also in the media in Belgium and so on) interpreting this things all wrong.
Blaiming muslims seems to be the solution for everything going wrong on the social platform in Belgium (and other parts of europe -IMO-) the last few years.
And we've all seen that before.
If people would take the chance to study the islam (as I'm planning to do the next few years at uni) and actually get to know some muslims they'd see religion has very little to do with it.

Hilarious this thing has been going on for twelve days and this is the first thread about it, by a belgian then for crying outloud.Oh and Da Preacher it has been clearly proven over and over again by more than enough scientific research that "allochtone" and "autochtone" muslims get discriminated on the job market here in Belgium, I'm assuming it is the same in France, I see no reason why it would be different there.
I know this is no excuse for dropping out of school, or let alone these riots all I am saying is that it is untrue to say that they are not discriminated because of their heritage or their religion or their names because they are.
*You know, I wondered about that. I've participated in threads on this topic on other forums, but haven't seen one on here.
Secondly, an anecdote. In regards to what you have said about descrimination. As I said earlier, I went to private school, where there was a huge difference in the number of black students, versus the number of white students. Now, often times, there were black students that came to our school and simply didn't feel like they fit in with the rest of us. Why? Because they knew they weren't the same as the rest of us. They came from poor backgrounds and were offered huge discounts on the cost of being educated there...simply because they weren't as "well off" as the rest of us...but also because it made the school look better. So, while there were three black students that were there for the same four years that I was, there were others that would show up one year and be gone the next. Why? It wasn't because they didn't want an education, it's because they didn't feel comfortable going to school with pretentious white yuppies. But, you know...I'm willing to bet that they would be black yuppies, given the chance to choose.
I think the discrimination on the job market is the base of the problem.
People need an income to get out of the poor socio/economic "situation".
When that happens then their children have a shot.
Now the reason why it seems like muslims are the cause of so many social problems is because they are overrepresented in the poor socio/economic "situation". But I myself know enough "white" people in the poor socio/economic "situation" which are just as big thugs as those muslims. Yet for some reason the general public doesn't seem to believe this.
A lot of them like to believe it is their own fault they can't find a decent job, Well to those people I have only one thing to say "Look at scientific research on the topic and you will see you are wrong"
But that generally provokes the response that social and human scientists are left-wing or marxist bastards

The problem i have here in Toronto is that Blacks say they do not have job opportunities but you go a few km north of their neighbourhoods there are many many minorities in new nice suburban neighbourhoods with a good job and family.
Its all about perception and what you believe you can or cannot do!
