Why would J.K. Rowling put Hermione and Harry together?

Its only my opinion but i think R/Hr are a good cupple and there cute together...

This is a interesting question but the reason is because HARRY AND HERMONIE are best friends and also there has to be some kind of romance in stories so more people would want to read and see the book/movie!

She hasn't written the damn book yet (except for the final chapter) and she has a habit of creating misdirection as shown in her books:

-Snape being the villain in Sorceror's stone when it's really Prof. Quirrel.
-Sirius Black leading Voldemort to the Potters' household except he didn't and was framed for it by Peter Pettigrew.
-Hagrid opening the Chamber of Secrets but it was really Voldemort that did it.

There's more but my point is she wants everyone to think that Ron and Hermoine will hook up but she'll pull a fast one and not have them hook up at all.

Not to mention the fact that she's likely taking the other half in consideration as well.

JKR won't hook them up with each other. She's working on making Ron and Hermionie link up. Harry and she will be friends for life, no hookups.

some of you guys have "intresting" theorys (and, no, im not talking about djm229, i liked it) really i was just seeing wut you guys would think intresting, really

yeah, and that's kinda freaky cuz in the first book you thought of them as 'the trio'

Ok, Ron and Hermione will end up together and Ginny and Harry will hook up again sorry but that's just the most probable thing...

There were never any sparks between Harry and Hermione in the books. It was obvios she and Ron liked each other. As for them "hooking up", it may or may not happen. Ron is a bit of a bonehead around girls. Hermione is more mature than Ron and the question is, will she wait around for him?

Besides, there are signs in the movie... JKR saw the movie before it came out and wouldn't let any of these happen if they weren't true. Also they actors have said it too... Don't remember their quotes but they've said it.
