USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

I'm sorry, who are you again? Oh, that's right, you don't play...

I will wait to see what Ush says of the plan, then I want to proceed to our meeting.

Odrus considers what you have to say, Eerin.

Time to safely communicate is short, so he tries to keep things as pertinent as possible.

First of all, he says that with three Star Destroyers to worry about, without any form of naval strength you will find it near impossile to jam their communications on anything but the most local level. This is a particular problem because the way the Imperial war machine works is to be very large, very flat, of roughly equal quality; there is no one part that you would be better off trying to jam.

Secondly, he tells you that guerilla warfare needs mobility. Without aome form of transport, your efforts will be useless. You will have to see what you can find.

Thirdly, though- and this is the only chance he has to fire a question back at you- he says your objective seems confused. Please state this very clearly, and directly, and to the point- what actually is the objective of this guerilla fight you are waging? The fight specifically, not anything else connected to it. At what point have you lost?

Meanwhile, guys, your weapons will be here soon, and I want to know how they are being stored for the game's duration.

Hmm, don't those smuggler ships have special smuggling compartments like the Falcon?

(Rhys mentioned that his has. I assumed mine did as well, as it's a YT-1300 like Han's. I wasn't sure if that was covered by ship customization rules or not, so I never said anything. But yeah, you'd think we smugglers had some method of hiding smuggled goods, wether it be secret compartments or false containers or whatever. The other smuggler ships are fighter sized, I believe; but mine is Han's basically, so it could perhaps be a mobile base or storage or both. I just dont know exactky what kind of weapons it would have, other than Ush said we all have torpedoes, and I'd assume at least one laser cannon.)

I don't care how you hide them, it's just where you are keeping them.

(Well, the smugglers' ships seems like a good place then, like Fire suggested. We can either keep them all on my ship, or spread them amongst all of them, whichever would suit our needs best.)

Well, that seems to be more or less it- just waiting for BB's reply yop his contact, really.

I assume both groups are arriving at roughly the same time? Actually, put it this way, you more or less have to, because there is nothing to be gained by delay, you would simply have less time to complete the game in, and you guys arrive ahead of the taskforce anyway.

yea the less delay the better, we'll have enough on our hands as it is.

I'm ready!

The point of the guerilla warfare is to keep the armies of the Empire from reaching Lanzar City of the Lanzar to wreak their destruction.

That's far too broad. He meant your objective WITHIN that aim (because that aim in itself is meaningless; not as if you can just wave a magic wand and make it happen).

One more chance to take a stab at this, and then you guys really gotta go...

(We can't completely stop them from reaching Lanzar City, we just need to delay them as long as possible. Our aim is to give the Senatorial mission as long as possible to complete their mission. If the Imperials force the issue and attack, we must hold them up as long as we can. We fail if the Imperials get to the city in time to trap the Senators there and/or the special information mission must be abandoned.

Well, I think that's it anyway. Hopefully at least closer to what Ush wants.)

No, giving the Seante time to complete their mission is what I was specifically wanting you not to say when I said 'not anything else connected to it'.

The point is, any fight of yours is going to be pretty hopeless if you don't actually have a tactical objective.

This needs to be specific, not broad.

(Well, I tried. Good luck BB.)

Killing their infantry and destroyng their armour in a discreet way.

That's a means, not an objective.

I'll see if I can formulate some objectives

Me too, I'll think about it.

Think of it this way- you can be damn sure the Imperial forces will have an objective. If you simply flail around putting your effots against 'whatever', they will win.

Their objective: To seize the city of Lanzar by all means possible.

Our Aim: To delay that city as long as possible

Our Objectives:
1. Tap into their communications network/Gathering intel
2. Disorganise their troops
3. Take out Key-Figures of the Imperial Army (might proof difficult)
4. Take out Liassons-Officers (might proof difficult)
5. Disrupt the chain of command (might proof difficult)

Means to do it:
1.1 Hacking the security network
2.1 Guerrilla ambushes
2.2 Mines and bombs
3.1 Assasination of mid level officers (might proof difficult)
4.1 Take out "traffic control" officers and liason officers (might proof difficult)
5.1 combination of 3.1 and 4.1 with possible jamming of communication or destroying communication equipment (both directions, top to bottom and vice versa)

Just adding my two cents, pretty sure it won't be what ush needs but I tried. Also a lot of those things might be not feasable for us
