(This post assumes that she was referring to Eerin as the 'clicky thing'.)

"Hey! His name's Eerin." Kyle flashes a stern look in Scarlet's direction as he yells over the comm link. "He's saved my butt tons of times. Be careful, he might need to save yours too."

Moving your skiffs onto one of the upper walkways- not what they are designed for, but you guys have never been orthodox- you find yourself looking down on the doom of your mission.

A large, and ever growing, group of Osokans is joining in on an attack on an exceedingly beleagured group of stormtroopers. It seems the basic core of attackers are gun-armed Osokans from the rooftops, but now pretty much anyone is joining in.

This is not, however, one of the Stormtroopers groups that have been wandering around the city since the Imperials arrived. it's morer important than that. At the centre of them all, and clear target of the attack, is the Commissar.

...Well crap.

Guess this kinda means they'll have a legal basis for attacking now, huh?

Long story short- yes.

"[I have a bad feeling about this...]" Eerin says, watching the stormtroopers try to hold out against their foes, but are being cut down, one by one.

What happens if the Commissar dies?

Scarlet's expression becomes one of surprise, but quickly becomes very stern.

"Those idiots," Scarlet says. "Don't they realize what they've done?"

(I thought we actually saw them get in the shuttle and leave!)

"No! Those fools." Kyle pounds the control board of the skiff. "The Osokans have screwed this mission up more than we ever could. It's over. Finished. The Imperials couldn't have asked for a more legal reason for invading. If the Rebellion steps in with the Osokans now, they're worse criminals in the Senate's eyes than before." He pulls his comlink out. "Galahad! The idiots are attacking the Commisar! He never left and his guards are being mowed down. Tell Drakkon to pull them off!"
"Eerin, what do we do? If we help the Osokans, we're no better than outright criminals. If we help the Commisar, our entire team will never get off the planet alive. But if they kill him, this world is doomed. Maybe it already is." He looks helplessly at his friend and at Scarlett. "I have no idea what to do about this."

You may note shuttles can come down as well as up. No-one kept a watch on the starport.

"Personally, I wouldn't mind putting a few blasts in him," Scarlet says. "But we can't really do that. If the Commissar is killed by Osokans, then Lanzar will be held accountable. If he's killed by us, then the Rebel Alliance will look ridiculous. We'll be labeled terrorists..."

Scarlet watches as the battle unfolds beneath them.

"If we help him, the Osokans won't like us, though."

It certainly seems a no-win situation...

Would the rest of us back in the Hall hear that over Galahad's commlink?

"[My only worry about helping him is that the Osokans might pick us as a target too]," Eerin says. "[Otherwise, it's not like we're Drakkon. There won't be political upheaval. Hell, we could make it look like we're taking him hostage. Or we could do just that.]"

Shit, I should have kept on that.
I feel that whatever is going to happen from this is now inevitable.
So anything we do is almost irrevelant.
I say you stay and watch, and if it gets too out of hand, swoop down, and grab the commisar.
That could be good for us.

It sounds like it's already somewhat out of hand, Cass...

I vote that we should help him. If we need the Osokans to not hate us, we can say we took him hostage.

I agree.
At least then we can talk to him on our terms. No running away, No stormies, no power.

Though, issue here: we don't want Galahad to be labeled a Rebel. We couldn't bring him back to the Guild Hall.

What if the Commissar decides you're holding him hostage? That would not be good. And questioning him in any way other than "Are you okay?" or "What happened?" would be worse.

Really, we don't need to talk to him at all. "Hop on if you want to live," should be enough. Holding him hostage isn't going to get us anything; saving his life would.

The only time we'd need people think he's being held hostage is so that the Osokans don't shoot us the next time we try to go 'Hey, unite everyone! Battle time!'

For a start, the Rebel Alliance already HAVE been labelled terrorists.

Secondly, unless you intend to take the Commissar captive, which returns you to square one, saving him won't change what has happened, save that all of you will probably die as well. There are dozens, more, of Osokans out there, and the crowd is growing.

In that case...and I feel that this is something Scarlet would do...is there any point to letting him survive this situation?

I mean, we were told that we were not to harm any important Imperial personnel...but it's already a bit late for that.

Well... that many rioting Osokans... and all the Stormies going down fast... I don't think anyone could even get near him safely.

Politically speaking, though, is this truly grounds for attacking the entire planet? For all the Imps know this is just the work of one faction, and unless Drakkon personally ordered the attack they can't really blame it on him.
