USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

although, meanly, I do feel that we could just let the Commisionar die.
Might not be the epitome of "good" rebel-y ness though.

The Commissar is supposed to be the acting person for the Emperor, so yes, I think they can blow apart the planet for it...

Plus, the Treaty says that Drakkon has his people under control. The Osokans shooting at the Commissar gives everyone the message that Drakkon does not have them controlled, and that they don't want anything to do with the Empire.

I say we end the Commissar's presence...

I say we let events unfold. The Contact told us expressively not to attack any Imperial officials, such as the Commissar. If the Osokans kill him, then that's not good, but there's not much we can do to stop them. If we join them, then we're technically disobeying orders from the Alliance Command.

Well, I think Alkaselzer has said it best. We can't attack, because then we'd be ignoring orders. It would be altruistic and Rebel-y to attempt to save him, but 1) you stand a chance of dying just trying to get out of there, and 2) we all stand a chance of dying for getting him away from the Osokans.

Exactly. If the Commissar put himself in that mess, then I'm sure he can get himself out...though right now, it seems more like only his soul will be freed...

(I think all we can do at this point is watch events unfold and shake our heads. This is a loose-loose situation, whetever happens. We must let events unfold as they will. Stepping in now will only harm the Rebellion. Hopefully we don't get any more good guy points taken from us for it, but I don't have high hopes for that either. I just think that choosing a side in this screws us more either way. It was a good try folks...)

Actually... watching events unfold could possibly not only lose us the game, but have us all killed as well.

I've looked at this from every angle. If we try to help the Commissar, we're dead, period. If he dies, when he doesn't return it will be assumed that he was attacked, and the invasion will be legal. Then we're stuck on Lanzar. If he escapes, he simply tells them. Again, legal invasion, and we're stuck.

However... two ideas. That building got blown up. Osokans wouldn't (and possibly wouldn't be able to) do that. All the non-Reb or Imp foreigners left a while ago. All of us Rebels were in the Hall. Therefore, the news would have traveled about what happened and the Osokans retaliated on the obvious committers of the crime. Meaning the Imps effectively fired the first shot, not the Osokans. Would informing the Senate of this affect our situation?

And second, assuming that wouldn't work... we really ought to get the hell out of here. As soon as the attack is legalized the whole planet will be put on military lock down. As soon as that happens, we're permanently stuck on the planet.

(That is an interesting idea. But I'm not sure we could figure out who fired the first shot.Since we didn't witness it, it would be a he said pig-said argument. But if we could, that'd be great. And it looks like I'm not getting my ship back. Wish I could pre-use my fortune for the next episode to get it back. You know, someone salvages it, and I stumble across it and steal it back. Hehe.)

As a team, we're never going to be literally stuck here. Andran taking the Revenge with him allowed us a gap with which we can easily slip out of the blockade.

Plus, Galahad's got Senatorial status, he can leave at any time as long as he's not convicted of supporting the Rebels...

But the political situation is damned by this. Not even Andran could salvage something from this. Whether the Commissar dies or not, the Imperials are going to want to retaliate for the crime, big time, and the Senate will back it regardless of what the Osokans say. Ush has called it the doom of our mission, there's no use there.

And Kyle has Favorite Seat, he'll be able to get a new ship.

So we are, effectively, screwed no matter what.

Politically, yes. Yes we are.

We can still win the battle, though. The Osokans seem to be mashing the stormtroopers into tiny pieces around the Commissar.

Well
Lets look at it this way.
This is probably a worse situation for the Imps. The commisar is in deep shit immediately. While they may be able to attack, the commisar is going to die NOW! So either they are going to freak out and try to save his ass, or they are gonna let him die. Either way. They are in deeper shit than us now. Also, the imps were gonna invade, it was basically inevitable. We needed to make it seem like a very bad idea, and get the senate to not support them. We fvcked that up big time.
But we still assumed they were going to invade in the beginning of the episode, So we need to prepare for the fight.
I want to go check out the shield generator.
You guys should see if its actually possible to pick up the commisar or if it is truly sertian death, because sometimes, its just the way to you pitch it, not the actual concept.

The rapidly diminishing party of stormtroopers and co have fought their way onto one of the upper walkways (not your one), where they become trapped behind ther cover of a statue.

(Ok, let's give it whatever we have left. I ferget, can these skiffs fly or just hover? I mean can we swing by and grab to Commisar? If it looks like we can, we may as welll try it. Although I'm a big fan of letting the Osokans get him. It will certainly unbalance the Imperials. But I guess that could be good or bad.
Like I said, we'll try to get him, but Galahad had better find a way to cover our asses with Drakkon or we're all toast!)

Kyle studies the situation. "Eerin do you think we could grab him off that balcony? Maybe Scarlett there makes a diversion somewhere away from there and we swopp by and nab him. If we do it damn quick, we might pull it off. I just don't know where to take him, I guess to his shuttle."

The walkways are crowded out.

Frankly you'd just become a target. Drakkon or no drakkon everyone would start hunting you as well. It's their instinct.

(Well, then I say sorry about the Commisar's luck. Unless Galahad goes to Drakkon with the information I commed him, and then Drakkon can actually do anything about it, he's screwed. And so is this planet.)

(It's been screwed since the Osokans started firing on him...)

"Nah," Scarlet says. "It's too late for him. And I don't feel like being shot up by Osokans for helping the enemy. If anything, I'm going to fly over to kill him, but I'd rather just watch."

"[I don't think we could do it]," Eerin says. "[I'm glad you're thinking of heroics, though. We'll need 'em later.]"

"Yeah, I'm afraid you're right. Might as well stay to see what happens, so someone knows the rest of the story here." Kyle crosses his arms, and watches to see the Commisar's fate. "Hmm, I wonder if he has backup coming, or if this is all the idiot brought back down with him?"

"Who knows," Scarlet says, resting her head in her hands, with her elbows on the control panel of the hunting skiff. "It's not like the Imperials can get something here. Stormies in the City are probably going to die soon, and they're not assembled as it is. Flying something in is nuts.

"So it looks like he's out of options."
