USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Rebel Alliance Thread

Ah, that would make sense. Is he using our explosives for this?

And can the players move their ships from the starport before he does this? 😛

As beat up as the Black Dawn is, Rhys would still prefer to have it moved away from the spaceport before the explosions.

He can leave one dock intact for you.

(Hey Rhys. Would you consider moving the Dawn near the generator like I was going to do with the Laugh? With good shields and weapons you could really tear up the ground units. Of course, if we lose the shield generator itself, you'd be in trouble against TIE's. It's a gamble, just thought I'd bring it up.)

Galahad will ask about the idea of putting the Gungan catapults on the wall to fend off things like AT-STs and other technological things that the Imperials throw at us that it can damage.

He will also ask about giving the Osokan company the energy balls as well.

Hey Ush, if we keep the disruptor rifles for ourselves, will we still be able to carry the pistols we all usually carry? And it works like a sniper, right, eliminating range penalties?

Do we know which direction they are coming from? If they're any kind of smart, they'll surround the City before they hit the shield, assuming they surround, but it'd probably be good to know.

I think putting the catpaults on the walls was settled long ago.

Yes, you can carry the extra weapons in addition; they were made possible by use of a Merit and hence you have the right to them.

They are coming from the west, and indeed, that would be sensible of them. Must be said, as of now you know very little about whaty you are facing. I'm not entirely certain I should even be giving you a time.

Four hours, btw.

Well, we know that there's going to be stormtroopers...

I think Drakkon should make some sort of speech, or Galahad with a translator. Get the energy flowing through our army. Would that have any effect on the Osokans?

Nh, they are pretty motivated already.

Woo. Stormtroopers. Great.

(Ok, little time left. Is there an answer on the skiffs? It'd be really nice for a large part of our army to be mobile through the city. I seriously doubt the Imperials will attack from only one direction.
Since Kyle is sort of taking charge, he'd like to take a good look at our front lines and preparations so far. What does he see?)

Checking the arm'y's progress, Kyle talks to Eerin. "What do you think of our chances? Against just Stormtroopers, I'd lay odds against them making it very far into the city, if they even diid that good. It's the walkers and other unknown surprises that have me worried. Is there anything we haven't thought about that we should?"

I wouldn;t worry too much about individual mobility. And other than people preparing to defend the walls, you see little.

There's no point discussing or planning tactics until the situation becomes apparent, but there is tons you could be doing during this time that you really are not. Start with the basics of what you might do when an enemy army is approaching.

2 hours.

(Well, it would be nice to keep them in our kill zone as long as possible. Is there any debris or such that would trip a stormtrooper up without providing cover? You know, like barbed wire and stuff. Slow them down so we can shoot at them longer. Or maybe dig holes. Anyone else?)

No time for that now.

Once the enemy gets through the shield, Galahad would expect every to open fire on our enemies. Immediately.

Can we fire through the shield, even? Or is the range too extreme? If our disruptor rifles can reach such extreme ranges, I would have all of us assemble on the wall at the West side and hamper the approaching stormtroopers, firing on them at a range that is extreme even for the rifles up until they reach blaster rifle range, then the Osokans could open fire as the stormtroopers begin to...do whatever they're doing.

In the event that the shields are taken out, Galahad wants everyone off the wall, as the AT-ATs could sweep the top of the wall clean. Is there a stairway or such that the Osokans could line and fire down onto the stormtroopers as they enter the City?

If the AT-ATs blow down the gate, can they firing into the City through the gates? That would be bad...

Don't worry too much about micromanagement like wondering if there are stairs.

And yes, they could fire into the city. Not much of it though.

Time is still passing and being wasted. 2 hours.

We're rapidly approaching zero hours. Are you seriously have going to have actually done nothing other than wait for them to arrive? It completely surrenders the initiative to the Imperials.

(Well, we planted the mines, we're ready to blow the spaceport. We've distributed the weapons and gotten everyone with a gun on the wall. We were going to take the initiative and go out after the Imperials, but were advised against it. We wanted to prepare defences like AA at the generator and traps and such in the field, but were told 'not enough time' for both. We have lookouts all around the city in case an attack doesn't come directly from the West, and I wanted to make sure that the army could move to where secondary attacks might come, I've been told not to worry. There should be a group of Osokans and Rhys at the shield generator to protect it from surprises. We're in a fortress, with the heaviest stuff we can get hold of at the walls. There is an entire CITY of some of the meanest fighters in the galaxy waiting.
Are we missing something? I'd bet my life on it. Is it for lack of trying? Not in my opinion, but I could be wrong there too. We've tried to be ready for as much as we can anticipate. Like you posted earlier, we aren't micromanaging, we're planning to react. At least that's my perspective, I've not heard lots of other ideas lately.)

But you're fighting blind. That's why I can't give you a good sense behind any of your plans. Like I say, I'm not even sure why I am giving you the countdown.

And no-one said that you shouldn't go after the Imperials.

All I can say is that the Imperial players had been very worried about Rebel disruption to their advance. There hasn't been any. They're laughing.

I'm not your enemy; they are. I am merely advising now.

I've been trying, but people don't like listening to me.
Fine, F*ck it.
