Galahad waits patiently.

Well, the Stormtroopers return and ask for you to come inside!

"[Whatever you say, Captain...]" Eerin replies, taking position in the copilot's seat. "[Wait, not return to the port? Where are we supposed to go?!]"

Kyle looks over at Eerin. "Heh, I really hadn't thought that far ahead. Maybe we should be more helpful than threatening? Rhys, you look like you have an idea."

Rhys switches on the comm and opens a trasmission to the freighters.

"Bulk freighters, this is starport security. Our system detected a file in one of your computer systems trying to upload itself to our mainframe. Evidence suggests that one of you has a virus aboard. We realize that this virus was most likely unknown to yourselves, and request that you return to the starport so that we may find and eliminate this virus, for your own safety."

"Hey, that's pretty good. If they buy it, it also gives us a chance to get into their ships to erase the logs. Let's cross our fingers."

That might have worked if you hadn't been speaking Basic.

.........

You know what, Ush? I hate you.

Stupid evil GM...

Yup, sorry guys! If you want to impersonate aliens, you have to put a bit more effort into it.

Why exactly must we impersonate aliens? Why shouldn't a planetary government employ those who speak Basic to interact with foreigners? Makes sense to me.

(You know, that thought actually floated through my brain at some point, but I though, nah we'll be OK....)

"Poodoo." Kyle stares blankly at the comm unit. "Well, plan B anyone? Or does someone have a C?" he sighs resignedly. "We can't let them search those ships, if they do we're as good as sunk. That would be all the excuse they'd need to take over the city. And that will be really easy since the place is crawling with stormtroopers already. Any ideas?"

Hmm.

Eerin will repeat everything that Rhys just said, but in Geonosian, across the channel to the ship, then turns to Rhys and Kyle.

"[Repeat everything over and over again in different languages, to make it seem that you are unsure which race the person is. Do like one or two languages, then hit Huttese.]"

"Brilliant Eerin. If this works, I'll buy a round for us all, and double for you!" Kyle keys his Comm, and repeats Rhys' message as exactly as he can, speaking Rodian. (or whatever he can do in a civilised voice)

Doesn't make sense to Osokans, though. Asking around the bar would have found a simple equation- if you interact with this world, you learn the language or you get lost.

I am afraid that simply firing random languages won't do it, and they're not going to believe this.

(*Grabs Chest and falls to ground, shocked that this plan didn't work either.*)

"They're not buying it, Guys. No booze for you! Well, now what, do we get crazy or go home?"

(A though: Could we have gotten Drakkon to hold the ships? I'm assuming it's too late for that now, but I just wanted to ask.)

Well, you couldn't, but Galahad could. But the problem then would have been how to disguise it, because it would have looked bloody suspicious.

The problem here is that no-one interacted with the ship's crews, so you don't know their motivations. That in mind, it is very hard for you guys to deceive/lie your way through this one. Something more direct don't work.

...

I am adding a caveat to that. I do NOT mean shoot them down. I suspect some people are going to read it like that.

(Please don't shoot them down, I already don't understand how this is working...)

Galahad will smile at the stormtroopers and beckon for the Duchess to come with him.

"Zalandos, wait with the speeder. Captain Ranad can watch us just fine, I'm sure."

Galahad will then enter the tavern.

(Ok, I just realised that Rhys and I have accidentally left a few details in our PM boxes. Here's the whole story, so far:

My original plan was to run up ahead of the freighters and make a nuisance of ourselves to distract the Imperials from the ships. I figures we'd make a more interesting catch. Keliero had a better (we thought) idea, and that was to try to call in some kind of bomb/virus threat that would make them return to port. Obviously, it hasn't worked. Too little, too late. Now we have to decide how to proceed.
My crazy character wants to buzz a star destroyer, or race around the space lanes, being overtly annoying but NOT attacking anyone, even if fired upon. Another option would be to simply land and leave the freighter's secret to chance. Maybe the Imperials haven't thought about checking the ship's logs. We didn't, at first. So, the same question I asked Rhys and Eerin I put to you all. Now what?)

Gallyhaddy, you may converse with the Commissar in the character convos thread. Sasha as well.

Kyle, if you get that close to the Star Destroyers, it is a bit late for the freighters. Either they want to stop them or they do not. If they do not, you have no worries anyway. But if they do, even if you distract them, they'll send the TIEs out. You could escape the TIEs, sure, but you don't have confidence the freighters will.

You need to sort out the logs problem before they reach outer orbit. Which is not long.

(Great, so by coming out here, we probably did more harm than good. I hope we didn't jst draw attention to something they weren't thinking about in the first place. That's life, my bad. Anyone else have any ideas?)

I think it was safe to assume that those freighters are a security liability.
