Rylis will head back to the starport, I suppose...
And I wanted to see if I could check out another of their hiding places, but oh well. I appear to have found something at least.
(hey Trickster? Can I point out that, as far as I know, Lyle never actually told Rylis, Arvus, and Karn that they were trying to hide weapons and that's what we were following? Think that might be important...)
NIGHTTIME- Day 1
Events happen during the night, but unless someone wants to take specific action against the other side (with possible sleep deprivation risks), interaction between the two sides does not occur.
After hours of boredom, activity from your ship, Trebeis. It has been difficult, caught between the Imperial objectives of both cracking down upon Lanzar, but also not doing anything too politically senstive. Make a mistake either way around and you will be blamed. This is precisely why Nidar left you in position over the city- so the mistakes would be yours to make.
You wanted to intercept the ships on the way in but the Commissar overrules you. Now, at least, the responsiblity is not yours to worry about- Lord Vader ordered their interception on the way out.
You had been observing them for some time, for you were not the first to have interest in them. Whilst the ponderous freighters were still in low orbit, a much faster ship came up from the planet and intercepted them first. They talked for a while, and then the smaller ship returned to the surface and the freighters moved on.
The freighters made a sudden run for it. On full power, your ship is surprisingly fast, but it is not nimble. They were banking on being past you before you could turn around. That was a worthless hope anyway- your TIE Fighters could reach where you could not, and in any case, Deviator made it into the batrtle before they cleared the gravity well, and so reached their hyperspace point.
Sadly, even trying to target only engines and the like, TIEs are not weapons of subdual. And with you chasing doewn the last target, you wished to damage it and so bring it into tractor beam range, but yout powerful weapons destroyed it instead. Better, of course, to have taken a ship intact*, but it seems your actions have been acceptable.
What you have now is a large salvage operation. What is wanted is all details of that ship- where it was from, what it was doing, what it was carrying, and its computer records. You do have a single trump card- one survivor, in an escape pod, all yours.
You had best have some information for Vader before the night is out.
The Commissar, as well as doing whatever things generally interest him (sleep being a good idea as well) can have some input on this particular situation.
Attacking those ships was a blockading action, of course. The Senate is going to raise merry hell, so you will need something to show for it soon.
*The kind of success that only comes if players actually run through the situation, I am afraid
---
And related to that situation, though on a different level, comes our other major event of the night, as Lyle and all the 'independant contractors' arrive on the Victorious.
The Commodore is there to see you arrive, in fact, in one of thise large hangar bays.
"Good evening," he says. "If you would care to accompany me?"
---
As for our military wing- an irritable Lomax has sent Commander Janthis back to the taskforce to report on things. You suspect that he is simply embarrassed to see you around there, Janthis, a reminder of his reconaissance 'miscalculation'. But you cannot be too accusatory because you did just lose four score of your own men, and Commanders blaming their Generals is not looked well upon unless they just won a big victory, which you did not.
Generals Atar and Coll are in conference about the military situation aboard the Victorious, and you can report to them.
"Well then Gentlemen. I suppose we do have quite a mess on our hands, don't we?" The Captain said. Marching across the command Platform of The Deviator's Bridge. Glaring out the Large Plas Windows, he continued. "I have better hope that you men learn better control, Next time, my punishment for your failure will be much worse." With that, a trio of Stormtroopers entered the Gunnery Stations, and seized a man by the arms. Bodily hauling him up to Trebeis. Looking disdainfully upon the shivering man, Attilian continued. "I will not be held responsible for a fool's mistakes. What do you have to say for yourself? Hmmmm?"
In lieu of a verbal response, the man apparently opted for a less civilized route. A large, wet, darkened spot began to spread upon the front of the man's pants.
In disgust, the Captain ordered. "Get him out of my sight. Reassign him. He is to be added to the Exterior Maintenance crews. However, he will have a special Occupation. He will check malfunctioning Atmosphere Suits, by attempting to pinpoint problems whilst wearing the suits in a Vacuum."
________
Watching the small ships drifting lazily through the clouds of Debris, Atillian could not comprehend How they were expected to extract anything useful. The biggest pieces salvaged insofar, were roughly the size of a clenched fist, and were slightly molten. Hearing a commotion to the rear of the Bridge, Trebeis turned to see a Message Droid Approach. Picking up the Droid's burden, and after giving the Droid a swift kick. He opened, and read the communique.
"Hmmm, so our Prisoner is ready for interrogation? Perhaps we should check in with the Commissar before we begin. It could start more trouble than I'm willing to deal with, if he were to die while being interrogated."
Picking up a transmitter, he quickly composed and sent a message to the Commissar. Requesting orders in regards to the Prisoner.
