USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Well, we've snuck into the Hall of Records, and that was under the Guild Hall, correct? There's got to be a way into the hall itself from there, maybe Arvus and myself could check that out.

"Well, the only threat we were certain at that time were raptors, though I suspected Rebel terrorists being involved. Actually, when our fleet stopped the attempt to breach blockade, I wanted to make sure whether there were any survivors in this ship that was struck down, the "Last Laugh", though other officers didn`t share my concerns. But returning to our current subject, Coll`s suggestions seemed like a logical way to greatly reduce further danger from the raptors. And if our enemies were planning diffrent attacks, surely with system of patrols around the perimeter the danger of us being surprised was more likely to be avoided. While General Lomax claimed that losing 1000 men at such an early stage was insignificant, I supported General Coll who actually tried to help the situation. I think you would agree with this logic, Lord Vader." -Commisar speals very calmly, but firmly( I assume willpower of 8 helps me with not showing fear to Vader).

Manpower losses are insignificant compared to material ones

Literally under it. Not connected. Plenty of healthy thin air between the two.

The Guild hall is high up connected by narrow walkways, if you remember.

Ahh. Damn. Hmmm.

"Indeed, Lord Vader. But it seems that no one expected that our enemies will throw such giant lifeforms on our troops. Though I personally warned General Lomax about rebel terrorrists and the need to be extremally cautious even before the forces were fully deployed."

But it was General Coll that suggested the changes to the defences and you that approved them?

There should be some secret escape point in the Lodge for emergencies, I'm sure.

"Yes. But those were temporary suggestions. General Lomax and his staff were supposed to make a more detailed plan of protecting our troops. It was up to General at the camp to improvise in such unexpected situation as Sauropod attack. While General Lomax`s loyalty is beyond any doubt, it seems his ability to improvise in difficult situations is not his strongest asset, likely result of lack of actual field experience. But General Coll will lead the army from now on, as we are going to advance.

I think we should leave this part of discussion aside and move towards some constructive planning. Time is definately against us, and I need to broadcast the decree giving legal basis for the blockade as soon as possible. We all know of consequences of disappointing the Emperor, Lord Vader."

Vader's fist slams down on the table, cracking it open.

Trying to get Vader to 'move on' is a horrendous error, especially when he has a point to make

You have allowed the Rebels to destroy a portion of our fighting force! Did it not occur to any of you that it was exactly their intention to move our material to the outskirts of the camp where they were vulnerable? This was a Rebel trap and you fell for it!

Melkor, angering Vader has lost you your immunity. Botth you and Coll are in imminent danger of death.

Ouch... Since I guess Jaiden was in the camp during the raid, could he help Coll and Melkor out by maybe reporting the full situation too Vader from a "soldier's" point of view?

You could certainly report that it was indeed made much worse by the vulnerability of the AT-STs and Speeders that had been moved to the perimeter. You doubt either Coll or Melkor would thank you for that.

Nidar and Atar are looking as much in the other direction as they can. Only Jarek seems laid back, with an air of detatched nonchalance.

Right, not good. Are you sure I can't back them up anyway? I was at the raid at that time, which means I saw everything happen and all the action progressing. Vader might understand that an trooper of a lower rank would rather lie to get the officer of higher rank dead, in order fo an easier promotion. He would know that it doesn't make sense for me to lie to him about Coll and Melkor.

What could you say that backs them though?

Also, sure you want to back a losing horse?

But once under Coll's and Melkor's command the iron fist of the Emperor will destroy Drakkon and his forces, the losing horse will become the winning horse, won't it?

Commisar cannot believe that Vader would be foolish enough to kill him, and destroying the opportunity to achieve political victory in this mission. But he neeeded to calm him down quickly. But he is not going to act as snivelling coward, he would never let go of his pride. Despite his family banishing him, he never ceased to be Boyar`s son in this respect.

"Only those who not act never commit mistakes. I am not going to avoid resposibility for my actions. But this battle is far from over, and the greatest tests are still ahead. I intend to help us achieve victory despite all difficulties. We shall pacify Lanzar and rebel terrorists will pay. There will no mistakes in the future. I would rather die than fail Emperor, Lord Vader."

OOC: Do they have a tradition of honorable suicides in Tasker`s Crown, Ush? Though my character rejected most of his people`s traditions, and theit view of honor.

What you have to remember about Vader is that he is not rational. Frankly, he doesn't give a damn about the Senate, law, politics, or the proper way of doing things. He barely puts up with them and if he gets angry he loses all possible connection to sensible conduct.

I am not interested in excuses or false promises. Someone will die for this error. To allow the Rebels this victory was treahery. General! What do you have to say?

---

What's gone wrong here, Melkor, is that Coll dropped you in it BIG TIME. Which from his point of view wasn't a good move, because you would have every right to take exception to that and so therefore he'll have managed to offend both Vader AND you. Doesn't do much for life expectancy, that.

Coll threw you a ticking bomb to try and save his own skin. You should have thrown it back at once- I know you wanted Coll in place rather than Lomax, but Coll's put you in the firing line. There's being inefficient, and there's being dead. Which is worse?

It's too late now, of course, but note how Lomax made out it was all Coll's idea. When Coll said you approved it, you could have just said "Did I? I think you are mistaken." Only Lomax could have confirmed it.

That's a bet you MIGHT play with your life, is all I am saying.

They have stories of it, rather than a set tradition of it. The various Boyar houses have many and varied reputations.

The most famous suicides are last-stand type, though. Those who killed themselves in good cause.

"Well, if I am to blame, than Coll is to blamed tenfold! It was him who brought those ideas, and assured me of it`s accuracy. It was he who is supposed to have great expertise in such areas! I only believed him based of his excellent record, and I had right to expect him to be competent. He had failed me as well as you, my Lord. And he can still be replaced on this operation. He should suffer the consequences".

Ush, do I have my blaster with me? Perhaps I should offer to kill Coll myself in this situation?

OOC: I am sorry Rex, only acting in character to save my character`s life.
