"If it's mine tenfold, then it's Lomax's twentyfold! I told him to discover the source of the attack, but he refused to send anything into the jungle! No scouts, nothing!"

Gaze of death focusses on Coll

Seems he'll swing with that as an excuse. Not that he's happy but having to explain a dead Commissar to the Emperor does put SOME break on him. Do remember, though, that Vader actually hates the Emperor and if he gets too angry he'll do absolutely anything, totally regardless of consequence. Like I say, he's not rational.

OOC: You guys need a distraction. NOW.

Oh, there's a reply!

"I DID send out Scouts!" says Lomax. "They all died, but the information from the surviving Commander told us that they only attacked in the jungle! The men I could spare but to lose our Commanders would have been idiocy! If we had kept to my plan, nothing important would have been lost, but it was Coll who was fooled by the Rebel plan!"

Gaze of death remains on Coll

And yes, you are armed, though you have to judge what does and does not impress Vader.

"Would you rather trust the invasion to Lomax?!" Coll says, rising from his chair. "He is incompetent! Atar and myself are the most capable Generals here, and I admit I have made a mistake! But my plans for the invasion will work perfectly. Not even the Rebels will be able to stop the advance of the Army!

"Lomax did nothing to prevent the Sauropod's assault on the camp. He fled. He did not rally the men, did not issue plans or orders, he ran to the opposite side of the camp."

"Where the bulk of our war machinery was! To organise and protect that machinery from the catostrophe YOU were the architect of, Coll!"

What's gone wrong here, Melkor, is that Coll dropped you in it BIG TIME. Which from his point of view wasn't a good move, because you would have every right to take exception to that and so therefore he'll have managed to offend both Vader AND you. Doesn't do much for life expectancy, that. [/B]

Well, I thought that with my authority I can get take Vader`s wrath both from me and Coll. But yes, it seems I acted not evil enough, and my character is pissed off.

Ush, Commisar stands from the chair and draws his blaster.

"Lord Vader, it seems that Coll failed me as much as he failed you. It was a mistake to think so high of his competences. Perhaps I could eliminate the source of this failure myself?"

Trebeis raises an eyebrow at the Commisar's move, picks a splintered piece of the table, and slowly lights a Ciggerette.

He remains attentive, slowly placing his hand on his own Holstered Blaster.

Ulrand is intrigued by Commisar's offer to kill Coll himself; he straightens himself in his chair and intently watches the developments unfold.

Coll shoots a glare at the Commissar, then back to Lomax.

"But you did not do your duty! If you had taken true responsibility, you could have handled the situation! You could have given orders to move our material before it was lost, as well as our men!"

"Then you admit your plan was at fault!" says Lomax, triumphantly.

For those of you worried that you are going to die horribly... and that's fairly much Coll as it stands as Melkor's better protected...

Remember that Vader thinks 'areas of responsibility' are technicalities. he earlier encouraged you to just DO things if you think they are right; live and die by them.

(Incidentally, the Nazis operated a very similar situation. Once, a realtvely lowly minion dared write a letter tio Hitler saying that he thought the head of his group was doing everything wrong, and could Hitler do something about it? Rather cheeky, but he got away with it. Hitler wrote back though, saying he would do nothing, and saying that if this guy thought that his superior was doing everything wrong, theen why did he not just take control himself? Hitler actually seemed to think that was the right way to do things)

Hence, Vader's current thought process is:

Why did it all go wrong?

Simplify that, because there are a lot of complex reasons and those ULTIMATELY responsible can't be caught, which has severely pissed him off. So, that becomes

What was the greatest mistake made?

That's much better. That's an issue that can be dealt with. And to focus that:

Who is responsible for making the greatest mistake?

That person dies. Now, no matter whose job things were meant to be, Vader is entirely focussed on this material issue as being the big mistake, and you having admitted it was your idea, Coll, he's treating everything else as irrelevant.

You'll have to interrupt his chain of thought somewhere else.

"Incorrect!" Coll says. "I am merely pointing out where you failed to act and be a leader! To take charge and fight the beast rather than let everything in the camp be trampled on!"

OOC: Coll, you can tell that it was actually his resposibility, and his decision to implement your suggestions. He could provide a convincing counterargument and I wouldn`t support you!

I suggest you edit your post, what you say is not enough. Do it right, and Lomax dies instead of you!

"There was no choice of that because of YOUR suggested defensive set-up!" yells Lomax.

If Coll pushes that too much, Melkor, Lomax will simply fall back on saying it was because you said it should be done also.

Like I say, Vader's not interested in responsibility, only whose idea it was.

But we cannot lie at this point, we admitted that those were our ideas, right?

He's a Dark Jedi. He would sense if your lying.

Not exactly a Dark Jedi.... but a true Dark Lord of Sith! Or rather the kind of sorry, non-disciplined excuse that passes for Sith Lord those days. But I don`t think force users can detect a lie if the one lying has a strong mind.

It's not an instant lie detector, no. The Force senses emotions rather than reading minds, and everyone is afraid anyway so there's no giveaway there.

Yes you have already admitted it, but having attention drawn to it will not help.
