USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Started by Ushgarak372 pages

Ok, well, you start socialising with these guys. An even Savoir-Faire roll means you can fit in, but you lack social skills that might actually prise out more information from them.

These people are quite happy. Lanzar has been a cash cow for a long time- it has exports, but what with the war, the exports have become rather rare, and hence for those brave enough to go and get them, the oney is up. Now with all this talk of the Empire moving against Lanzar, prices are higher than ever.

Exports seem to be mostly natural- the people you are talking to export pelts for the luxury market; a creature killed by an Osokan Hunter is a good conversation piece for the rich.

They don't seem to know much about what the Osokans think about it all- apparently the Osokans rarely show opinion and it is hard to know ifd they have one at all; they get so distracted by their own interests, which is mostly hunting. But most people think that Drakkon will do a deal with the Senate and that will be that.

(Remember, the threat of Imperial invasion is a rumour; no-one actually knows that the Star Destroyers are already coming- it is a rather outrageous action, after all).

The Imperial Fleet is leaving Coruscant!

All crew return to their positions as the hyperspace countdown begins.

(Okay, I'm back. How much longer do we have before the fleet arrives, Ush?)

We should all follow Arvus' example. Socialise, but make it clear that we are smuggling guns. Well, don't make it clear... But make sure people know. If that makes sense 😖

Anyhoo, Lyle will head into the bar with Arvus. I suggest we don't try and hide our connection as a group. Any other ideas?

Not wanting to sound silly, but who are you posing as smuggling guns to?

Socialize with Osokans too, I want to know how stable Drakkon`s rule is!

I think might be best if we just posed as smugglers who took an oppurtunity to take some weapons, and are now trying to offload them.

Maybe?

If not, we can always fall back on the various criminal enterprises we know.

Question I asked was- to whom?

Because no one is going to say 'Hey look, gun-runners!' as soon as they look up. Ush wants to know if you're talking to S&V or Osokans or...?

Well, it would be very odd to gun run to the S&V types, you see.

But gun running to Osokans... well, are you planning to sell guns to them one by one in a bar? I don't quite understand your approach there.

I thought that it was just our cover if anyone is suspicious.

Anyways.

Satisfied with his answers from the scum he chatters with, he moves to talk to the bartender about the current state of affairs.

"Salutations," Arvus says as he seats himself at the bar. "Arkanian ice whiskey, if you have any. Shot glasses."

You might look more suspicious if there is no detail to your story and someone takes an interest.

Bartender gives out drinks; that's what he's there for. Anything specific you wanted to pump him for?

After a few drinks, Arvus looks to the bartender.

"So, I heard that Matadan's been replaced, since I was last here..." he says, pretending to be slightly drunk.

"Damn right," he says. "What's all this interest in old news these days, anyway?"

"Ah, just curious on the current state of affairs, I used to come here before all that Imp puppetry and war and stuff...wasn't safe until Matadan vanished or died or whatever the hell happened..." Arvus says, then looks suddenly serious. "Why, other people curious?"

"Yeah, had a bunch of off-worlders asking about him earlier. He's yesterday's news; everyone's forgotten about him. Good riddance."

"Interesting," Arvus says. He finds that slightly suspicious, but at the same time, he does not. "Anyways, been awhile since I was here. How's Lanzar fairing these days?"

"Not bad. Everyone's a lot happier now Matadan's gone; we just need to ride out all this poking around by the Senate."

"Oh, the Senate's here, are they?" Arvus says. "What do they want with Lanzar? Seems you've got everything a-okay here."

"Everyone knows the Senate's here," says the barman, suspiciously. "The Empire has been trumpeting it all over the Galaxy for weeks."

Ask them how firm is Drakkon`s grip and are there any results of negotiations, or rumors about them..
