That's an interesting piece of knowledge. Any idea what those funds are being used for?

Well, if I'm going to be super-recognizable here, then it'd probably be best for me to leave the others to do any info gathering, as to avoid calling attention to myself....

Not THAT good a roll, I am afraid, Arvus. Seems no-one knows.

Damn. Esgabath would so easily pry it out of them...or Rand...

Would bribery work in here anywhere?

You've already tipped and bought drinks 'liberally'.

Actually, I think this might be a time where we could use Rylis's reputation to our advantage...

(I just looked up exactly what Fearsome Reputatation does, since I couldn't remember, hehe.)

looking to the General, Trebeis replied "It is a possibility, but the Senate's wishes do not concern us. Sure, blame could easily be shifted to us- But I much rather face that, then a prolonged stay in the brig of my own ship." He paused, thinking then continued "Or for that matter, to face the barrel of your men's weapons. No, I should think it best that we just follow our orders, for now."

I was going to say, Lana, you could probably get things out of people.

Actually, Lyle has much better social skills than you, he should be gathering information too.

And I mentioned we would have regular communication, before Advance Team went to Lanzar, I even asked about the methods availible. So I assume someone is checking at last 2 times a day, especially that further orders were supposed to come from me.

Concerning the blockade: I assume that we can always find the justification after it happens, right? It isn`t like the Senate wil debate on this immediately, likely the proceedings will take much more than few days.

Assumptions mean nothing- I have to be given plans, and I gave more than enough time for the advance party to give me such plans. Blame them.

And yes this is true, but you have to have a reason you give at the time that you can retroactively justify. Just doing it 'because' and then finding a reason later isn't good enough.

Without a source, the idea there are Rebels there doesn't really wash as a legal reason.

Doesn't help that Nidar is being completely vague about it, and that it didn't go through Esgabath first.

What may be other possible reasons? Could Law skill help?

There are plenty of possible reasons for a blockade. It's just that you don't know if any of them are happening. You can't just make one up, no matter how good your Law skill is.

For it to actually be ok with the Senate, there has to be some event or events that you have tied into a justification. You can use Law to recognise what might or might not work, but you cannot conjure something out of nothing.

Nidar is simply saying that he doesn't care.

If I currently justify it with the alleged Rebel Presence, and later new events will happen, will it strenghten the justification?

"Commodore Nidar, we will wait with the blockade decision until I contact Senators and Drakkon. It is very likely we will commence with it after I finish my conversations, though."

Ush, I want to contact the Senate Mission leader.

Commander Janthis heard the anoucement over the comlink and decided to head to the bridge.
HE meets with General Coll and Captain Trebeis on the bridge after the poper salutes are given Janthis asks, Sir is it true that our forces will be deployed upon arrival and if so how do you want me to begin preperations for the launch?"

"Not upon arrival, but prepare to be deployed regardless," General Coll tells Commander Janthis. "Load all walkers and speeders into their carriers for a quick and efficient drop, and tell the troops to prepare themselves."

Activating a Communicator to the Comodore and Commisar, The Captain said "Sirs, If we are not commencing immediately with the Blockade- Is there any way we can legally detain anyone leaving the Planet. To ensure no one skips out beforehand?"

As you were told, Melkor, he won't pay any attention to you until you arrive.

And you don't have an excuse of Rebels. You have a sentence- that's not an excuse. You blockade now, even if you find them later the Senate will simply ask how you knew, and then you are sunk because you have no source. Retroactive justification has to look like you had a good reason all the time.

"If you insist, Commissar," says Nidar.

"Very well sir," Janthis turns and does as he is told.

The Commodore is re-issuing orders, saying to prepare blockade procedures but not to actually activate them arrival. Troops should be left on alert.

You don't like troops being left on alert but with no action, Coll- they start to lose their concentration. You can only keep people keyed up for so long.
