USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Argh, Sorry. RL concerns have become abit more than pressing as of late. (Notes inactivity in Matrix.)

"I want those blasted terrorists taken DOWN. NOW!" Trebeis shouts angrily. Watching as the gunnery crews plot their shots.
"Move the Deviator into better positioning, to ensure a maximum impact on the situation."

"Commodore?" He says, stepping onto the Holoprojector.

Sorry, barb, your XO is your executive officer- your Ally.

It also seems that the Victorious is heading over to you.

(Whoops.)

"Yes Rhodes?" He asks the Lieutenant Commander hurriedly.

"We've analysed the Rebel attack," he says. "And... uhh... there is a slight risk..."

"What type of risk?" He says, narrowing his eyes.

"Well, two of those craft are torpedo capable, and in theory if they launch successful strikes against our shield generators, they could then start to pick out targets on the ship. Like... uhhh... the bridge."

"They would be foolish to attempt an outright assault on an Imperial Star Destroyer, let alone MY Star Destroyer. Never the less, your concern is reasonable. Open fire on the enemy craft- All weapons. If they break through, divert auxiliary power to the Shields."

Pausing, he narrows his eyes once more.

"And relay this information to the Command ship."

"Of course, Captain! Umm... though... as has been shown before... turbolasers are not always an adequate defence against fast-moving fighter craft. They'd have to be lucky... uhh... but it IS possible that we might not be able to stop them."

He moves in closer and whispers.

"Fighters like that are meant to be taken out ship to ship! Sending the remaining fighters away has caused a disaster! The most they can lose is three irrelevant ships. But us? How are we going to explain the loss of a Star Destroyer to Corsucant? Or even one significantly damaged? We need our fighters back!"

I see that cowardice is spreading all around.

Nidar has just made much the same report to you, Esgabeth.

"It's our conclusion," says Nidar, "that they intend to kill you."

Can't get ahead if you're dead.

I think maybe someone should contact Vader...or get the TIEs back that are down with the army.

"So long as we do what we actually were brought here to do...there is absolutely nothing the Commissar can complain about." Rylis replies.

"I think you'll find that the Commissar can complain about whatever he wants, but, from what I hear, he's normally a reasonable man."

(I've decided, btw, that Lyle probably wouldn't have smiled before, but would have been ironic.)

"How much time do we possibly have? Our remaining Squadron isn`t down yet. And how much time for the Army to reach the shield, Marshall Atar? And what do you think for the chances of Coll`s contigency plan if something happens to artillery?" -I assume Atar is with us.

"I am certainly willing to take a certain risk in my task to help ensure our victory. But of course losing Star Destroyer is much more dreadful than losing some ground Army equipment...." -Commisar grinds his teeth, thinking.

"An assessment I agree with," says Nidar.

"We're still some twenty minutes from breaching the jungle, longer to get the artillery into position," says Atar. "As for his contingency... it's possible."

"We must get the fighters back," says Nidar. "If it even LOOKS like a small bunch of Rebels scared us, we'll be the laughing tsock of the Senate."

And indeed, the poosible humiliation of the pride of the Empire- its destroyers- is a Senate Sympathy issue.

"You say that we cannot wait any longer? And what about Vader`s force? You should asked him about his plans, long ago, Commodore! My interference is the sign of failure on the part of non-political Officers! Everybody was aware of potential air-cover problem."

"I understand, Rhodes." He scratches his chin for a moment. "Do you beleive recalling one of the two Squadrons with the Army, would be sufficient to repel the Terrorists?"

I think now would be a good time for our beloved Commisar to contact Vader.

"Vader has been asked about his plans, Commissar. His response is simply that he thinks we'll waste the fighters, and I do not think this incident will change his mind. He left us those fighters to protect ourselves. He'll want to know why we risked the ships, unless we sort this out very quickly.

"As for the air cover problem- I would blame General Coll. he told Vader that the invasion would be easy and with no problems."

"Do you think we have to recall both Squadrons at once, or one is enough for now?"

"I say they are our darn squadrons," says Rhodes. "Ulrand is OUR fighter leader. We take them all back!"

"Then we shall do so. Make it so, Lieutenant Commander."
