USH'S ORIGINAL TRILOGY GAME EPISODE I 'LANZAR'- Imperial Thread

Pretty much nailed it there, Melkor, which means you can go down if you do nothing to do with the mission.

I don't have a precise number for you, Coll, because I have a more strategoc perspective for the game, so just assume each Star Destroyer carries 'a handful'.

"We can hardly load people into speeder bikes," comments Atar.

I cannot actually think of a worse vehicle to use in a jungle than a Speeder Bike. But bow to continuity I must, and judging by ROTJ that is exactly what they use to scout through such terrain.

Do remember you don't have the slightest clue upon which basis it is thought that Rebels are present. That makes getting evidence near impossible. The only direct lead you have is Andran... and you have no idea on what basis THAt was made, either.

Kyle and co are cargo runners; it's more than their job, it's their life. Still, hard to catch pros in the act on a planet like this- it hardly has a customs bureaucracy.

(Which is ironic, considering who they used to work for).

Okay, so only way would be to observe Andran- but we don`t have any means for it, Advance Team can`t get that close to him for a longer amount of time, right? Perhaps they could track the suspected Rebel Agents and see if they are doing somethig against Imperial Law?

Then it would be the matter of linking the Rebels with Andran- we need evidence he met and collaborated with them. Perhaps if I manage to get one of the Senators on our side, I can have a witness against Andran.

And I still think i should go back to Lanzar, if nothing else than Jaiden can see more of the Lodge defences.

Indeed, the main orders for the Advance Team from me is to track the illegal activities the suspected Rebel terrorists are engaged in, and their links to Andran and Drakkon.

So it is up to Lyle, Rylis and our Assasin. I think that Rebels are not aware of Lyle, so he could spy on them.

And it would be good if Agent`s Stirge player became active. Is he posting on those boards?

"Then it would be the matter of linking the Rebels with Andran"

What Rebels?

That's your big problem. You can link the players to Andran, but how do you link the players to being Rebels, and so therefore also Andran?

To save you the trouble- you can't, the Rebel players are not self-incriminating.

But if they divulge in obviously illegal activity, like smuggling dangerous weaponry and opposing Imperial military, it makes them kind of Rebels, right?

What other options do I have? I should have come with some elaborate plan, but I still feel like I don`t have half the information I need.

No, it makes them criminals. Much as you might like, you can't actually clock Andran just because he was seen talking to someone who broke the law.

Well... there is a certain plot logic to the whole Andran situation, which you might have to entangle. There is no directly obvious way to take Andran down, else it would already have been done.

Consider it a poser.

What you mean by "poser"?

Melkor aproaches Generals Atar and Coil as they are engaged in conversation:

"I trust that everything is going well? With Lord Vader present the price of failure shall be heavy indeed, so I would advise to be extremally careful." -He grins a bit menacingly.

"General Atar, I would like the troops to aproach Lanzar City as close as possible during the course of those "maneuvres." The attack on the city may be delayed for political reasons, so I need our forces ready to strike quickly. And Emperor himself would like Drakkon alive."

Lyle is maybe looking at this problem from the wrong perspective.

Now that could either mean the wrong part of the operation in total, or... Lana, Zink? Fancy just asking the loaders what they've got in the boxes - perhaps petend you're here to pick 'em up?

Ush, is any transports available for my troops?

I think Jaiden is going back to Lanzar with me- I am not sure he really paid enough attention to the Lodge defences.

I already stated that I would like to go back to Lanzar and double check the Lodge.

"Of course, Atar, but all men who can pilot the vehicles should be assigned them, and perhaps two to a bike? I've done it before myself."

Coll salutes the Commissar as he approaches and hears him out.

"All due respect, sir, but I am entirely against having the soldiers wait within the boundaries of the forest," General Coll replies to Commissar Esgabath. "The wildlife is dangerous, and waiting in the jungle too long may notably reduce our numbers. Those raptors go in feeding frenzies..."

A 'poser' in this sense is a thoughtful puzzle.

Actually harder than normal to get down, Jaiden- the armies are using the transports to unload on the surface. You can get down to the city on a shuttle, easily; getting your men down is harder. You would have to look into it.

-

Atar agrees.

"I don't think we can really get any closer, legally speaking," says Atar. "Also, I do seem to remember that those Jungles are nature reserves. I think the Osokan hunting habit was one of the reasons the Old Republic censored them in the first place. Taking an army through there on manoeuvres might cause trouble. Quite aside from how dangerous the jungle may be, if we just sit troops there."

-

That's better thinking Lyle. The weak spot in any operation is almost always the people, not the hardware. Think more along those lines.

"I am working on it General, but I can`t promise we would be able to invade before a day or two has passed. You must secure the position and troops until then. I don`t see how the bunch of wild animals can threaten an army seriously, just don`t spread your men too much. I hope General Lomax understands the possible consequences of his unadequate cautiousness?. I am confident you will supervise him." -He leaves, unless Nidar wants something.

Okay, I am going to Lanzar now. Jaiden doesn`t need to take more than a dozen men anyway. And I have my personal transport ship I used to catch with the Fleet, right?

A Division is about 10000 men, and added to that you can consider dozens of speeder bikes, about thirty AT-STs and five AT-ATs.

I have found the numbers Rex asked for.

Which people down there could i coomunicate with?

I could ask General Coll or General Atar for a transport to get my troops down, right? Or do I have to ask an engineer officer in the hanger?

You could certainly ask one of the Generals, or you could look into it yourself, up to you.

-

There are no specific people, Lyle, and besides, talking to them would mean getting in there.

General Coll sighs. "There is no way I will station my men in that jungle. The risk is too great; I'd rather lose soldiers to battle than to raptors."

How is Nidar doing, Ush?
