"They are not just wild animals, Commissar. I am not saying I would be incompetent to lead the invasion, I am stating that putting our men at risk before we need to is a fallacy. Due to laws guarding those beasts, our men are not allowed to defend themselves from the creatures should they attack, but let themselves be eaten. And killing one of those things would further aggravate the fact that we're even on the planet in regards to the Senate."
"Well, I understand your concerns General, every good commander cares about his men. But it is already decided that we land on Lanzar, and there is no other option, it is impossible to avoid the wilderness. And from the beginnning you were aware of the fact the you wil need to reach Lanzar through the jungle, why are you suddenly fearful? In this mission we need great resolve, some losses are unavoidable. The will and determination to achieve victory is half the victory itself, caution has its place, but it must be put in perspective. Nothing great can be achieved without risk and sacrifice."
"WHatever you order, Commissar," says Atar, in reply to what you said to him, "but we must either wait in the clearing or advance through the jungle. We can't wait in the Jungle, not with a whole army. It would be a logistic nightmare. If we are going in, we are going in all the way."
And to you, Jaiden:
"Actually... maybe it is time we showed a military presence in the city. If exercises are being held on this planet it is not inappropriate to make a showing at the seat of Government. You could lead that troop deputation, Commander."
It was estimated it would take the Army two days to reach Lanzar City, wasn`t it? And if I don`t get the excuse to invade in two days, I can`t delay it further or we won`t meet the Emperor`s time limit, right? So I don`t risk that much by ordering Army to start the aproach through jungle?
By the way, is it on purpose that my character has no Warfare skill? He should not be an ignorant on those matters......
