Janthis- another volley of fire into the raptor brings it down mere inches from your face. It collapses in front of you.

There is now a considerable amount of screaming from behind.

Lyle, a 15 on your Intrusion roll is more than enough. Sneaking pas tthe lazy labourers, you heave yourself up into the ship via the fuel intake- the tubes are very large on these bulky freighters.

You are now inside the dark, dingy ship. It's a pretty big place.

Lyle is now on a stealth mode, which means he is out of contact with the rest of the team.

Which is a shame, because...

---

THe probe droid reports that, after a certain amount of confusion, one human alone has left the convoy- and has quickly made her way back to the starport.

Janthis will turn to see what is happening.

Oh, there are two dozen of those things that just jumped out of the trees and attacked your men in the clearing.

So whats the situation exactly.
The ones not being attacked can I get them to form up the way I wanted?
About how many men do I see I have left?

(Christ, two dozen raptors! May the Force be with you, Janthis! 😖 )

I can't remember, Coll- were you doing anything else?

-

Your men are trying to form up, yes. But there is a certain amount of confusion, and fire is sporadic and wild.

They haven't actually eaten many of them yet. You are sure you have at least 80.

Not at the moment. Just asking questions about the city walls.

How high is it, btw? Higher than an AT-AT?

Much. Several times the height.

And yet an AT-AT could blast through? How thick is the wall?

Very! At least an AT-AT thick. But AT-At main guns are very powerful indeed.

It wouldn't be an instant job. But that's why none of your other weapons will really do it.

So a good pummeling from the AT-AT guns will put me through, good to know.

Now, which wall would I attack, coming from the landing site?

The west, assuming you only come from one direction.

But from within the city it is hard to get a feel for the land aorund the city, of course.

A multi-directional attack might come in handy. It would spread the Osokans out, so we could come from the West and attack at the North and South walls.

Now, what section is the generator in again? I'm drawing myself a map...

It would be unusual not to surround the city. They would be mad to meet you outside of it, so you'll have plenty of time to set up.

Generator is in the north. Remember, the city is shaped like a plus sign.

Janthis will move back and direct them into the formation I wanted.
I will also try to fire at any raptors that are the closet to my men.

Good point, Ush.

Would it be possible to station AT-AT's in the corners where the lengths of the plus sign meet? Or would the AT-AT still stick out of the shield and be messed with?

And which part is the starport in? Might be good to secure it when the time comes, so that none can escape.

Similar problem. Also, a VERY nasty decision. Although technically imprentrable, in a tactical sense you cannot treat AT-ATs as being utterly invulnerable or there would be no reason to bring any thing else at all. At the confluence of those 'arms' of the city, two walls worth of defenders will have perfect shots. It is a tactically horrible area.

You should also note that you can expect them to make the ground difficult for walkers in advance of the fight. A few concealed big pits can make an AT-ATs life difficult. Of course, you can use the men to scout out the ground first, but they would probably be too busy dying at those parts of the city walls.

-

12 on your leadership roll is good enough, Janthis. So, let's kick this fight off.

-----

BATTLE SITUATION- FRAME 0

Jungle Clearing

Raptors x24: 2/0

Stormtroopers x79: 4/0
Trooper Leader: 3/0

Commander Janthis: 2/0

-----

Frames count up from zero. When it reaches your frame number, it is your go.

First number is your frame number, second number is damage taken.

The 'Trooper Leader' is a supermook who acts as your deputy, Janthis. Like a Sergeant.

Your leadership roll has rallied your men, but they have had no time to deploy tripod guns and the like- they are using their hand weapons.

We can see that the Raptors and Janthis are tied for the first frame to act. Players go first, so Janthis, off you go!

It takes one frame and a Leadership roll to direct your men to do something specific.

-

Ok, definitely about three or four people left the convoy and are at this moment in the starport. The convoy is kinda ambling on in the meanwhile.

Lyle- in a quiet maintenance area, not currently in use, you have found a relevant computer port.

Well then. I'll do my best to tap into it and find the information on the ship.

So my men are in the circular formation I wanted. Nice Janthis will be in the middle of the circle with my Sergeant and 3 other troopers. Janthis look and find where the nearest raptors are and direct his men and him in the middle to fire at them.
The rest will simply fire at whatever is coming their way.

Arvus will make haste to follow these fellows into the starport, waving for Rylis to keep driving and ordering Butcher to follow the convoy as well.

Arvus, you have made it back to the starport. They had a bit of a start on you, as you had the droid following them at first, but they seem to be heading to some of the smaller docking bays.

-

Lyle, you have spoofed the security system. Trouble is, the system is in a different language. In fact, it is in Huttese. It is going to take you a while to sort through it all.

-

Ok, Janthis, your men are splitting their fire more or less evenly.

Your opening volley on the first one you see does 15 damage. As you oragnised your men, they all get to fire before the Raptors tear into them. The Troop Leader lands another blow on your target.

Your men actually roll quite well. Their fire kills four of the Raptors as they close in. The raptors do not roll quite so well, downing nine of your men. Your next volley downs the one you were firing at. Firing back, your Stormtroopers kill another three. Nine more of yours fall soon after.

The Raptors suddenly break off their attack and move back.

BATTLE SITUATION- FRAME 8

Jungle Clearing

Raptors x16: 11/0

Stormtroopers x61: 10/0
Trooper Leader: 9/0

Commander Janthis: 8/0

---

The starport is in the southern area, and yes, is an important place to secure.

-

The convoy is turning into smaller streets. It seems to be nearing its destination.
