In the absence of any posts to the contrary soon, I am going to assume the people on the ground are following on foot. However, the convoy has split up in six different directions, so I am going to need a number from 1 to 6 that decides which one you follow, else I will roll to select randomly..

Janthis, in a final, desperate yank, you grab your gun, wheel your arm around and unload at close range into the Raptor's head. That finally shuts the damn thing up.
Standing, you see about twenty of your men behind you, encouraged by your victory. The rest that were still alive are running, and you soon see there is little hope for them.
Some are pulled into- or perhaps under- the ground by unseen assailants. Others are simply taken down by the Raptors, who leap at amazoing speed. Trying to avoid them, some have climed trees. You see one being crushed by some sort of giant snake inside the leaves, whilst one on top of the trees is cut in half by some sort of ptereodactyl that drifts past above, keeping the top half for itself, which it starts to eat in middair.
The they are lost in the darkness. Soon it will be pitch black. More raptors are coming.

"Well, General, what you want is hardly any concern of mine!" says General Lomax. "May I remind you that I am in charge of the landing site? Concentrate on your own affairs!"

"Hello this is Commander Janthis. We have confirmed that the lost soldiers were killed by animals as my report stated. We have suffered quite a few casualties. It is getting dark and we will have trouble finding our way back. requesting a pin point on our location and possible evac if possible or a route back to camp. Janthis waiting confirmation"
He turns to his troops that stayed, " You did good today you should all be proud of yourselves hopefully this will be over soon but not yet everybody stay on your toes get into a defensive formation and be prepared."
Nope, way too late for anyone new to start tailing the convoy.
The probe droid can be used again if you so wish. Point is, though, now it will have to try and find something. If you had left it in place, from its aerial view, it could have tracked all six convoys for you.

I assume you are sneaking out the back anyway, Arvus, which goes fine. There is no sign of where the others went.
-
Static, Janthis. Seems the jungle canopy buggers up your comms, too.
-
Your plan, General? Still much to do!
