Originally posted by Shakyamunisoni've seen it quite a lot, but i could care less really. i still say "Merry Christmas" mostlly to friends and family. to those i don't know, i pretty much don't say anything.
I have heard some talk about this, mostly on the radio. I really haven’t seen any of this supposed, “War on Christmas” until today. I was on hold with a title company, listening to the Christmas elevator music when a recorded voice came on and said we wish you happy holidays. Now I’m a Buddhist and wasn’t bothered one way or the other about this, but it made me wonder. How many other people have seen a trend away from Marry Christmas, and do you care?

I'm not really sure what the big deal is about the word Christmas. Why would it offend any one? Just because someone doesn't believe in the Christ doesn't mean we should get rid of Christmas. That would be a very silly thing to do. I think that if someone is going to get offended over something as little as a word they should check into a mental ward. It's only the name of a holiday, get over it... But that's only my opinion.

Honda has already made a commercial (they made it last year, BTW) that parodies "Happy Holidays" inserted in the place of "Merry Christmas!" Talk about your double-whammy right there.Instead of "We wish you a Merry Christmas," it says:
"We wish you a Happy Honda-Days."
Happy Honda-Days....wotta loon

so does this mean they'll soon put a ban to certain xmas songs because of that phrase "merry christmas"?

So who's the "Happy Holidays" mascot?I just need to know who will be substituted for "Santa Claus" in all the modern versions of the Christmas songs.
