I was watching ABC news (or some other network I don't remenber they're all the same) and there was this report from the Mall of America in Minneapolis that says that kids under 16 yrs must be accompany by his/her parents in order to shop inside the stores. Which I thought it was little to harsh. They claim that because of the holiday rush they have been encountering troubles with certain misbehave teens.

If a teen is not with his/her parent a security officer will escort the teen outside. And not allow inside again without a parent. Here is my problem...teens are the reason why malls make money. They buy more...they frequently visit them more than adults...and cause less traffic congestion. So why restrict them?

Because of this issue it most likely be changes in other malls across the country. So, is this a good or bad thing. Or age discrimination?

It is not necessarily age discrimination moreso then it is a generalization. I knew a lot of mature 15-16 year olds that were not miscriants. But, it is a punishment for the behavior of few (or maybe not few) that are costing the rest to suffer. I dont care if I have to go to the mall with my parents. I like my parents. (Yes, teenage rebellion. I know)

But, the points you made hold validity. They do buy more, but around the holildays people are buying a lot of crap. So what does it matter? Companies are going to make money. T'is the season, WD.

The main point is that they do not want Mallrat kids cluttering up the stores.

Very good argument you got there smallville. I like that perspective on the issue.

Storm I really don't remenber what schedules but most likely is for the holiday season.

Strangely enough...Romero didn't include a large number of teen zombies in the film. 😛

I hope this isn't going to effect malls across the nation. I pretty much ONLY go to the mall with my teen friends.

It was probably foreshadowing to indicate that there wouldn't be much difference between zombies and the real product decades later.

And I go off Topic?.........Dawn of the dead?....saw the midnight showing.......at the mall...Jumpy

And they let you in past 4:00? 😱 How did you do it?

I'm non organic, I just slipped by 😑 ..."are you lighten another up?"

oh random again...sorry, you're gonna die of cancer...LOL

omfg!! 😱 I used to work at the mall (in a an arcade) and I have to say the 12-15 year olds caused a lot of trouble among other things. Parents shouldn't even let their kids got to the mall considering all the shit thats goes on. ie drugs and oral sex.

But I'm sure there were some teens that did behave properly? Right? I find it unfair that just because a certain troublesome group of teens....all teens should be label as bad.

i think its a good thing cuz in certain areas in America after ppl have been waiting online for hours to get their xbox 360, ppl jump out of nowhere and rob thier asses, also there have been a few isolated cases of sexual assualts, or at least attempted, so im all for it

This is stupid. 4 PM? The few occasions I go to the mall, I'm there until 11 or 12 PM...

I didn't know the stores in the mall stayed open that late.

I do think 4 PM is a little early for the curfew, tho. I've never been to the MOA but it seems to me that 6 PM would be a lot more reasonable. Give the kids time to shop after school.

I'll admit it, that's one of my pet peeves while waiting in line to play pinball.

You don't have to go to the mall to have sex/oral sex....They do that on the School buses....true..

Well, it's just the guys playing pinball that are receiving it while I'm in line that are kind of distracting. Then, when its my turn at the machine, everyone leaves.

I must admit I never saw the attraction of shopping malls - hideous decor, bad music, unpleasant people, shops selling garbage I wouldn't want to buy even if I did have the money to do so... and of course the oral sex and drugs (..............................) But maybe thats just me and Australia. We just never got the mall culture. I guess it's our loss.

Though I suddenly have a hankering for some pinball (sans oral sex, I mean, it's hard enough playing without.... damn, sounds like a bad innuendo. That wasn't intended.)

Oral sex and pin ball 😑 😂

Doesn't it make it hard to play?......hahaha

😂 Yeah, you gotta focus on flipping those flippers while all that's going on...difficult, I'd imagine...but hey, what do I know; it only happens to the guys in front of me.
