You have awful taste. Truly, truly awful. Whilce is hands down the worst artist to have every worked in the comic book industry, he is an unholy combination of Brett Booth and Liefeld. 😘
Everyone he draws looks different from panel to panel, he has no knowledge of human anatomy. Everyone he draws has a jacked up face that looks like they miraculously survived a car running over the skull as a baby.

I'll never claim that Portacio was the most consistent of artists, but when he got it right, he REALLY got it right imo. So yes, he was better back in the day on Uncanny for me.
And yes, in general your taste is pretty bad, I'd say.

Anyway: You never said "that" art looked good? That's what his art looks like! It looked the exact same back then too only colored by hand. The only difference is you were - I presume - a child when you read. If you want to say you have an unexplainable nostalgic affection for his art... then say that. That at least is understandable, we all have that fond nostalgic connection to something in one way or another. Nostalgia happens... but Portacio is, was and always will be, terrible. Really really terrible.
FYI, my taste is peerless. I'm surprised you want to go down this road... I can post terrible Whilce Portacio art until I day of old age... are you going to keep saying "lawlz Wolverinze is totz dumb" that whole time?

Yes, but did you like it because you have fond memories of the arc from the past? If you had never read those stories before, and that was your first exposure to them, would have the same opinion that you do know? I honestly doubt it.
I have fond memories of Jeff Matsuda's art circa X-Factor but objectively it's not very good.
