I put canon as it happened for the 616 universe while I use contunity for the moent when it happens. So this might be canon as in it happened for 616 but it doesn't belong in it's current timeline. Because obviously it can't because Thanos and Starlord are lost in a crumbled universe other stuff that happened that is canon but not really in continuty are the events Spider-Island and Ends of the World.I think there a re more minis that are canon but can't really be placed in an exact moment in 616 timeline.
Maybe I'm misusing these terms but I always used them that way.
I asked Tom Brevoort on his formspring whether Avengers Assemble is canon and this is what he said:
"It seems like this is the only question anybody ever asks about AVENGERS ASSEMBLE--I'm not quite sure why, since it's pretty clear to me from what's in its pages that it absolutely is. So let me say it again: yes, ASSEMBLE is in continuity."
