Cap needs to pull thor to the side and tell him "You know maybe you should sit this one out buddy".

Or he could just give Cap mjolnir and go home to take a rest.

Whatever floats your boat.

No one who's actually read a great deal of Thor before Fraction got his mitts on him can actually say that Thor hasn't regressed backwards or that his current characterization isn't directly inspired from the movie.

As far as the other stuff goes, it's all blatantly laughable.

I wouldn't argue that he hasn't been adapted to be more in line with movie Thor, but I would state that realignment is a measured improvement of the character.

Angel's personality was erased, he is currently a curious, naive and child like blank slate. There is nothing wrong with the dialogue in that issue, as is the case with all of Jason Aaron's work... which reminds me, penultimate issue of Scalped this week gentlemen. 🙁

edit

Maybe... but honestly other than FI, all those events are so far in the rear view mirror of my conscious thought, and outside of CW they weren't really memorable enough to color my opinion over anything. Those events being so blahze and nondescript, I can't be bothered to even think about them. [/B][/QUOTE]

I didnt really think about the others until this event got full advertisement. My reaction being "God not another one". I think marvel with be better served to at least mix in an semi-thoughful event with all this mindless slugfests. I think thats how DC got away with how bad flashpoint was.

How is Thor's character regression an improvement on the character? He's effectively a brute with the odd statement here or there displaying some wisdom, which completely throws all of his development since he died and came back under JMS. He's next to always angry or very easy to provoke and wanting to kill shit with very little provocation. The only plus, if you could call it that, is that the current Fraction-mindset Thor has had some impressive fights due to his IDGAF attitude. There was no real reason for Thor to regress outside of Fraction saying he likes to write angry warrior Thor.

Because he was so introspective and restrained before right? JMS changes to Thor were mostly cosmetic, he dialed back the purple prose and turned Loki into a woman.

Yeah, actually.

Thor underwent massive growth and development over the years, especially after discovering the reasons for Odin banishing him and the purpose behind the Donald Blake persona. Achieving ultimate wisdom, ending Ragnarok, and dying further developed Thor as a character.

JMS actually wrote a Thor who learned a lot from his prior lessons and was matured as a character and much slower to anger and hesitant to kill as he should be. Gillen did the same thing.

Fraction then comes on board and decides to bring Odin back and regress Thor about ten or so years development wise.

Very good news. I'll leave it up to you to be my DC reporter from here on. 😉

Don't like the cape on BA

So long as Black Adam doesn't hijack the book and become the sole focus of the Shazam Mythos again, this should be good.

Makes him look Spectreish.

*sigh* Did Rachel just own Thor in wolverine and the x-men? Did I read that right?
