Because that logic applies in comics as well. So dropping planet busting feats from DBZ characters and trying to act like they trump the elite high heralds and the like is ridiculous. The most powerful attacks in comics don't bust planets and don't have to in order for us to know they'd phuck someone up regardless of whether or not they can survive a planet exploding. Godblast, Hal's Krona Buster, Superman singing, Destroyer's Disintegration Beam, Captain America's shield toss, etc.
Unless there's clear reference of comparison within the same story, or narrator statement, you never know if a cigar is just a cigar or something more.
In this case, for comics, you can't simply make the argument with no context that a mountain buster sized blast is more than what it actually looks like. It would take a situation where X survives a planet busting attack and then in the same story/arc, gets hurts by something far smaller like lazers or some such, to make the same kind of definitive argument.
I have no issue believing that Thor could at least be hurt by a mundane, human analogue nuclear bomb in a comic, this is what his range of feats lead me to believe. Someone like Cell on the other hand, would tank it with no issue.

You clearly don't get it. Nappa city destroying blast won't tickle a Super Saiyan.Roshi moon busting blast won't tickle a super Saiyan. Vegeta planetary blast during the Saiyan Saga won't tickle a Super Saiyan. Don't argue with us about it, fuss with Akira but once you learn about power levels in DBZ, then you'll understand this.

But that's the thing, comics are far less a consistent medium than anime/manga.Unless there's clear reference of comparison within the same story, or narrator statement, you never know if a cigar is just a cigar or something more.

Well, if you take DBZ's abc power scaling and attempt to force non-DBZ characters into that same system, I can see why people would argue for them.

It's nothing to take...its just how it is in DBZ. If character A is significantly more powerful than character B, characeter B isn't hurting character A at all and there are some character B's that carry planetary power. Like I've stated, Galan explained it better than anyone.

Ugh.
Anyway, that lame attempt of quantifying She-Hulk's strength notwithstanding, I'm tentatively hopeful for Fraction's F4/FF. His Thor was ridiculous in terms of characterization and dialogue - save working alongside JiM - but his Iron Man - which should be closer to tone to the F4 moreso than Thor - was great. Eisner award winning great.

Which is fine, but don't expect that to hold up when debating against the likes of Thor, Surfer, Superman, etc.

Dont know why not unless people ignore the characters capabilities.
It's not so much ignoring DBZ characters' capabilities as it is ignoring what those other characters can do and have done.
The only way DBZ characters spite stomp high heralds like the ones I mentioned if you attempt to willfully lowball them.

Stated on panel by Babidi that it take 10 killos to destroy a planet...also stated on panel that Goku as a Super Saiyan 1 is carrying 3000 killos. All stated on panel in the Manga. Goku power level sh**s on Heralds.

facepalm
Only if you do what I've said above, which is basically lowball or ignore what these "heralds" have done.
