I wonder though, what if Waid really does consider Hulk to be legitimately worthy? No shenanigans or shit going on (At a guess, they time traveled to the past using that piece and that messed up the enchantment). How does that change Mjolnir's enchantment in the overall picture when everyone from Doom to Ben aren't?

Good point.

If there's no "plot twist" revealed by the end of this arc, and if Hulk is legitimately worthy, it raises a lot of questions.

What specifically made Hulk worthy in this scenario, especially considering Hulk's tried to lift Mjolnir numerous times and couldn't? I don't consider Waid's Hulk to be anymore noble or heroic than the Hulks who've came before. I certainly don't think this incarnation of Hulk is more heroic than the people who've attempted to lift Mjolnir and have failed.

In any case, Waid's not a unrepentant fanboy like Pak and Simonson being involved in some capacity means I'm okay with this regardless of how it turns out.

That was weird. Almost did look like Hulk was lifting it via strength for a bit. I'm sure there will be some revelation next month about the enchantment being compromised but i had pretty much expected the enchantment to be totally on the fritz and for Hulk to just walk up to the hammer and calmly pick it up.

And yes, at least hes finally talking again.

I'm just curious how Waid would rationalize it.

It's pretty clear that the enchantment is compromised somehow based on the interview but I wonder how. Is there even an enchantment at all anymore, is Hulk worthy because of that piece of Mjolnir Thor gave him, did using that mess with Mjolnir?

Whatever, doesn't really change anything except make it a cool fanboy moment. I know some were hoping he does it via strength, but that would have been really stupid.

I like Waid and I trust him as a writer to pull through.

Do you have a link to the interview? And what's this about Thor giving Hulk a piece of Mjolnir? I gather that this is a time travel sortish adventure given Thor's classic appearance.

Shooter, Starlin, Gruenwald and TWENTY+ YEARS of Marvel continuity say "Hi".

ROFLMAO. 😠

😆 Someone's suffered a nervous breakdown.

It's indeed surprising that the current version of Hulk seems to be worthy of Mjolnir, given that he has never been before. But since the worthiness criterion is a bit vague, this can't be dismissed right away. Maybe being an angry violent brute IS ok, as long as you don't wear purple pants.

At least he lifted the hammer due to being "worthy" instead of just overcoming the enchantment with brute strength. This way, the enchantment still remains "undefeated".

I think Hulk will flip Mjolnir back to Thor and say "Hulk doesn't need hammer. Hulk is Hulk and he is the STRONGEST ONE THERE IS!".

This.

And then the revelation will be that Hulk retained some residual Odin force from wielding Mjolnir.

So he'll become a regular enchanted lightning blaster and have unassisted flight capabilities. When he thunderclaps in the future, it will be accompanied by actual lightning.

Then Cap will retire Thor and say he's no longer needed and should seek therapy for his brain damage.

Hulk lifting the hammer blatantly involved physical strength, not worthiness. You seem him use one hand, then both of them, and then him struggling, until the hammer is off the ground.

The scream on the last page doesn't change that.

[of course there will be future revelations, but until then...]

yawn

While is fun to make fun of this and IMO it is hilarious.

I think He became worthy in a time of need.

I noticed how He struggles at the beginning, then he tries with two hands but then in the end he is only lifting it with one hand.

I think this is going to be explained that He was worthy on a desperate time. Or some bs like that.

Having said that, the only thing left for me to do is point and laugh (^u^)=0-

-sigh-

Thor gets one shot by the beings he makes eat their own clubs, and then Hulk picks up his hammer. DRAWN BY SIMMONSON, next Hulk's going to beat Thor in a slugfest just to say "Lol, I could take your hammer if I want blonde, but I'll let you have it since you need it more than me."

Context behind the lifting be damned. His filthy hands should have never been wrapped around that beautiful mallet.

When Thor and others have been deemed "worthy", they likewise seemingly struggled physically purely for dramatic artistic purposes in some cases.

Strength-Force>>Odin-Force, clearly. 👆

LOL. The Parliament of Doom and the the House of El still have their doors open for you. In fact, even the Gamma Nation would welcome you as a brother in arms.

Shift your allegiances to a new fandom while you still can.
