So that it doesn't breaks apart from losing momentum.
Superman has stopped moon from colliding with earth alone before acting against a machine fueled by a sun no less. We're not talking about thor here.
He was hit by both kryptonite and red sun radiation. Read again.
I was still interested in discussing this so I replied in a random thread:

thor missed by the looks of it
Yeah no bolts actually hit Terminus based on how they're in front of him or maybe they're visible through him? Could just be design. At first glance I thought Thor missed because of Hyperion's warning but he seemed to not hear him so I went with it just being the art.

^ There are multiple Terminuses. Or Termini. There isn't any one true Terminus more powerful than the others that I am aware of. The one in Avengers vol.5 #13 is presumably the same one that engaged the High Evolutionary and the X-Men way back when in the Savage Land and repurposed by him.
Also considering this particular one was backed with limitless power...
Hyperion is just that much better than the entire JLA. It's to be expected when he can toss around universes.
Yeah, Hyperion ripped High Evolutionary's arm off easily and the way he punched through Terminus' head is pretty crazy.
It's made painfully obvious that Hulk/Hyperion/Thor are the three big guns of the team but I wonder how Hyperion/Thor compare strength wise. I'm guessing push to shove Hulk will beat either cause it's his thing but between those two will be interesting as Hyperion is pretty much a copy/pasted Superman with some recoloring done. He's even powered by Solar energy, such a rip-off lol.

The Real Terminus was the one Reed used that "vibrating" device on and drilled him to Earth's core.
That's the one that, MUCH LATER, went on to merge with the Terminii to become the Stage 5 Terminus.
The Terminus the X-Men fought in the Savage Land was really just a big robot controlled by Grokk.
The one the Avengers fought, the one that Hercules split in two, was a Deviant piloting the armor.

So, how many Terminus's are there? lol

I dont see him as a rip-off so much as Hickman basically wanting to write an Avengers team with Superman as a member. Which is pretty awesome. Maybe..."blatantly obvious reference"? But i guess this is splitting hairs.
From an earlier interview Hickman indicated that he saw Hulk as the strongest but im sure he has plenty of respect for all of them. He listed Thor and Superman as two of his favourite characters. Its cool to see him developing the friendship between the two and showing how they seem to relate to each other pretty easily.
Im interested to see if theres a rift that might open up between Banner and some of the others later. There was a small scene that might foreshadow him cluing into the New Avengers/Illuminati thing happening in the other book and Hickman has stated that Banner/Hulk will have a pretty big arc.
