He came off dumber though IIRC. Too much stomping around like the Hulk for my liking. I like my Darkseid only resorting to brute force as a last resort and accomplishing most things with his intellect.

I sincerely hope Darkseid didn't kill the Old Gods of New Genesis before he had any powers and with some random spear. Hopefully it's some ancient weapon that can kill them or empower him.

I'm not going to assume these Old Gods are from the Third World without any evidence either. It really doesn't make any difference but the Third World was destroyed in the battle of the Gods long before Darkseid was born and was split into two planets, New Genesis and Apokolips.

But this is based on the classic New God origin so it's pointless. This new 52 retelling is already completely different. Might not even be any Third or Fourth World. Just a planet with Old Gods that were usurped by their mortals who became the New Gods.

Well, that's what old gods did in the original fourth world saga and that's how its been depicted every time.

This story seems to be shaping up to be much different than that with completely different power levels. Darkseid would probably be nothing but an ant to a God from the previous world, much less be able to kill one before he received his powers. Anyways, should be interesting.

Yes. They tore the whole creation asunder and the energies unleashed created the life in the new creation as of Genesis.

Even if he is an ant before, he drained them completely becoming Darkseid and he would've their powers now.

I wonder if killing and absorbing the old Gods in DCNU also increased Darkseids power exponentially, like in the DOTNG saga.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that killing a dying old god and absorbing his power allowed him equal footing to kill other old gods.

BTW, I wouldn't laugh, Superman is just that awesome.

it only comes natural for him to automatically downplay every single thing that has to do with DC.
