Don't worry, Pak would see to that.

Hmmm actually his origin does seem a bit too similar to gog. But its not necessarily a bad thing if he got Thanosified a bit or if the new gods lore got nerfed. He looks a bit more threatening now.

I don't get what the problem is with Darkseid being above Superman. I honestly think the guy should be a JLA buster...CONSISTENTLY. Marvel does well with Thanos, they keep him in the tier where he belongs and avoids him facing defeat at the hands of people that shouldnt beat him. Quan, you're going to hate this but I've always thought DC should have written Darkseid even above the likes of Thanos imo...the guy should be a legit power house, someone that can only be defeated via plot aka boom tube. Hope DC keeps this going.

IMO Marvel does a better job of putting people within their tier, they occasionally go above and beyond but there usually is a good explanation.

In DC, you can have a universal level reality warper or a being above Galactus but at the end of the day, he is going to lose in a fist fight against superman or get his ass blown to bits by Hal.

I've always thought DS to be a devious plotter and a powerful being but not physically on Superman's level. I hope Abhi is right and Pak puts things back in order.

Only way to restore order would be for superman to kick DS butt in a fair fight without any sun amps. :-)

Eh? Darkseid should be above Superman.

Naah...when I think of a major villain in DC, I think of Darkseid. Pre reboot DC crapped all over Darkseid imo. Just straight up DOO DOOD on him. That fight where the entire JLA struggled to even push him through a boom tub should be how Darkseid should always be written.

Superman can bench planets, Darkseid should be able to crush suns. If Pak writes Superman beating Darkseid, I'm going to rip up every Hulk comic he wrote.

Agreed.

Growing up, I always felt that Darkseid should be a tier above the most powerful heroes.

I was shocked when I first read Byrne's Superman lay the smackdown on him. Yes, that was retconned but subsequent writers had Supes inflict some really bad and borderline humiliating beatings on Darkseid (sometimes into blindness)!.

I'm happy that Darkseid is being propped back up to his "Great Darkness Levels". That's the level he should be IMO.

Superman should be able to defeat everyone in straight combat.

Prime lives up to the promise.

Can't agree with this. We already have a unbeatable being in mxy. Think about it, DS is a master of Prep with almost unlimited amount of resources of his planet. He can travel anywhere via BoomTube. What's to stop him from taking over earth if not for someone physically superior? If he is smarter, more powerful, with all of his resources, What's really stopping him? Agreement with New Genises?

You'd have to have a comic first to rip it.

Also Darkseid always viewed superman as a threat to him in physical department even pre-crisis. Even in this comic a young superman is said to rival him in power. Who cares if Darkseid kills some random superman from an alternate universe.

That is how Darkseid should be written, the corpses of a dozen slain supermen under his boot.

Why people would want Jobberseid back is beyond me. What is the point of a pushover main villain?

.

Deity, schmeity ...

(Hey! Look at me when I'm talking to you!)

Mxyztptlkz (sp?) isn't really a villain in the same vein as Darkseid and others. He's a nuisance character.

And the Justice League is what would stop DS from taking over DC Earth. That's kind of the point of superhero teams. If all it takes to beat Darkseid is to just punch him in the face really, really hard then he's not much of a "Big Bad."
