Wrong comparison. And Cap has taken on characters way above Namor's paygrade, and in some cases even won. When it comes to PIS-entrenched feats, you don't want to debate against Captain America.

If you go by logic half of the things every street leveler (including Cap and Bats) does is usually PIS against higher powered heroes.
But of course we are talking comics.

There. Your point about Darkseid ALWAYS punking Superman gets disproven with this single statement.

It's not about Darkseid.
It's about defining power levels and matching the characters status and reputation.

And sadly I know this will never be the case for any character ever. Doesn't mean it's right.

Darkseid's power level is defined to be beyond Superman's. Being more powerful doesn't mean that you win every confrontation against the weaker opponent. You simple have the better odds in that case.

Superman being able to beat someone who's supposed to be above his paygrade isn't far-fetched line of thinking at all.

Being a skyfather as in the leader of a pantheon should mean something.

Darkseid might have been introduced in a Jimmy Olsen issue, but that doesn't make him a Superman villain.
The threat he represents does and he has many stories where it takes at least an entire team to bring him team.
Also as I said, is consistently referred to as "the greatest threat in the DC Universe". That alone should be enough for him to be above any single hero.

Only if its just for battleboard purposes.

Superman beating Darkseid physically isn't a knock on Darkseid. Being a superman villain makes him a superman villain. Anyway this isn't the thread to discuss this. Agree to disagree.

Agreed.

Also @TheGodKiller I see your point, i just feel that Darkseid should be in that special category where he is the exception, due to his status and rep.

Why is beast just standing there while Wolverine is being shanked?

Because nobody likes Wolverine.

One of these days i'm going to do a myth busting showing that Darkseid beats Superman more than vice versa.

That said, this isn't a debate thread, guys.

No you won't, Pr. babby

😐

Lol.

But it's a huge knock on DS when a single Kryptonian can take him alone.
That reduces Darkseid to the level of a common weekly villain.
Saying "a single kryptonian" is like saying a "single hero". Superman is neither. Darkseid generally treats people that are kryptonian (Supergirl, Cyborg Superman) or usually close to Superman's normal level opponents (Lobo, Kalibak) as nuisances.

In the new continuity, he beat the entire JLA (Superman included), until Superman turned the dials up and bought enough time for the others to banish him away. He's still far above the other heroes - but Superman is not unlike the others, and when he turns it up, he can go up even against Darkseid.

It's not a testament to Darkseid's weakness, it's something that shows just how powerful a very motivated Superman is.

😕

Can't tell if serious.

NOT a debate thread guys. Pull one of the 10-12 Superman v. DS threads back up if you really need to continue this.

If you're going to troll, be entertaining.

You're only good to this board as long as your posts are fun to read.

Ignoring what Philo said.

H'el is returning.
