Having old comics doesn't somehow negate the enjoyment of getting new comics. Especially when said comics don't always get in the way of other comics being written.

Marvel's catering to a wider demographic is just a business move, and it's working.

Marvel's All-New All-Different relaunch in October doubles up DC in comic sales (yet again):

reboots/relaunches almost alays see a surge in sales.

That's why Marvel always relaunches their titles.

lol, it isn't just Marvel.

They do it more often, though. It's their whole seasonal approach to launching. CBR did an article about it earlier this year.

Better to relaunch titles than to do stupid resets, if you ask me...

They're both annoying.

Action reversed to relaunching titles is even worse. Going back to the old numbering, but somewhat modified to confuse the readers, lol.

Marvel does the same thing, though, they just don't market it as big. Changing origins around and whatnot.

More often but in less drastic ways. It evens out.

The relaunching gives me more of a headache, though. While DC has only 2 major relaunches. COIE and DCnU.

Somehow, relaunching never really bothered me much...

Event-spam is worse, imho.

I actually don't mind renumbering. Every once in awhile.

I get the whole relaunch uptick, but I seriously don't see how any veteran comic reader would buy any of this shit. Post AvX (and even before that, TBH) 99% of Marvel's books have been so bad it's almost offensive. DC has been far from stellar, but Marvel's SJW stuff has just been the final nail in the coffin for me.

I'm going all Indy post SW methinks.

I've read a few Star Wars books. Those are pretty good. The main Secret Wars title is also good.

I've already read every issue of the main SW series, it's not too bad, but it's not great. Aside from that, Hickman is leaving Marvel, and he was pretty much their only saving grace. And the "All New All Different" thing just grosses me out, and I won't be buying any of it.

Aside from those you mentioned, most of Marvel's titles are the definition of mediocrity, at best. As for DC: all I follow consistently atm are JL, JLA, Deathstroke, and Green Lantern(which has been excellent, btw.)

Tbh, if you prefer quality comics, Indie is the way to go. LOTS of excellent titles there. 👆
